Just looked at the Pentax KP. Impressive machine! Looks like you could hammer nails with it. Pricey, but I am sure that it's worth it. Your lenses?
Many newer photogs will never know (or maybe care) the pleasure of using real knobs and buttons.

In an earlier post I referred to the idea of being in a "rut". I was referring to myself and my own regrets for not trying something other than my faithful Canon gear. I previously owned about every contemporary Canon body (APS-C and FF) and "L" lens that was affordable to me. Equipment junkie, I am. Like others, I was hooked on the Fuji system once I started seeing the results. The cameras operate like real cameras with things like aperture rings, dials, etc. Much less menu diving. Film simulations and colors no other manufacturer can come close to. Lots of "soul".

Likewise same as you but only 50 years experience. Started with a Nikon F. Loved my Canon stuff too, but Fuji far outclasses that, especially the colors and film simulations. My regret is that so many people are stuck in the FF/Canon/Nikon rut.

I have never seen the argument summed up better than this:

Fuji also renders colors like no one else. Their background is in film, not electronics or optics (although they are learning quickly). They know and understand color better than any of the majors.
I went on hiatus from UHH a long time ago because of the senseless pixel peeper conversations. Pixels have no soul, if you get what I mean. The pixel peeping thing is a very easy trap to fall into. Imagine if the great photos of the 20th century were judged only on resolution and sharpness. Someone made the comment about judging artists by the quality of their brushes........

Sensor size is such a tiny part of the photographic experience. I will admit that I am highly prejudiced. I recently converted to using Fuji X-T and X-E series. The cameras themselves are a joy to use. The images are exemplary. They compare to Canon and Nikon like a Porsche compares to a Chevy Suburban - both good in their own right but both offering vastly different things to different people. Fuji colors are incredible and not available with any other brand. Canon and Nikon are stuck in the past.

I have had both and the Fuji APS-C produces the best results I have ever experienced. Nothing comes close. Especially the Fuji film simulations. The colors. You can't get them anywhere else no matter how much you spend or how much extra weight you want to carry around. Check out Zack Arias' YouTube labeled "Crop or Crap" or something like that. With the new technologies that are emerging, FF is becoming something of a joke. Look at some of the fabulous images made nowadays with phones! I don't believe that they are FF sensors! I envision the APS-C sensors having the same sort of competition in the future. FF is a great triumph of slick marketing. Cameras as jewelry.

Point taken. Beautiful and unusual shot.

Check out Zack Arias on YouTube for great comments on sensor size. The Fujifilm system trashes most of the arguments for full frame. To me, it’s a senseless argument. Only my 2 cents.

Recently converted to Fuji from Canon. The colors are gorgeous. Good results from a cheap lens.

Hello cdayton,
Nice car.
Today is my last day at UHH.
Too much negativity and snarkiness.
Good thing that I didn't mention that the Magic Eraser is great for removing the film from interior car windows. Who knows where that might have led.
Bye.

If you haven't tried it, please feel free to not comment on its effectiveness. Just makes you look foolish. All things are abrasive - from microfiber cloths to toothbrushes. I am telling you from experience that it is 100% effective and there is no downside. If you are happy pushing the dirt and grime around with alcohol, lens cleaner, microfiber cloths, toothbrushes, etc, have at it.
It is disappointing to have received such snarky and sarcastic comments regarding my post. Again I see the ugly underbelly of the Internet.
I'll not darken your doorstep again, if you follow me.
Bye.

Proof. Just got this camera. Removed all of the old gunge from finger oils, etc. Don't knock it until you try it. Seems to be a lot of negativity and snarkiness here. Just trying to help.
