The overall image doesn’t appeal to me—the graininess, the cropping, whatever. If you post a picture you should expect both positive and negative comments—one has to be thick-skinned at times.
Keep shooting, keep learning and enjoying what you do. My personal taste are not relevant to your work.
I am an amateur as well, and cannot help you—except maybe to point out that not everyone will like every picture you create. Have a good day shooting.

OK now I understand a little better. Thanks.

I don’t get it. Sorry to say.

Don't get what? I decided to play amateur photographer with my wife as a model, intending to use light and form to give a different view than one might expect. It's hardly high art, I readily admit that, but when you say you don't get it, it would be helpful if you could explain that to me.

As I have stated previously I really don't have much experience or training like some people here may have but I enjoy exploring, and perhaps my post-processing has offended some people's sensibilities, I don't know. Maybe you can help me out here. A four word review doesn't do much for me.

These are largely unprocessed. I'm a total amateur and we were playing with ambient light. In my opinion a torso shot is more like a study of form... in this case a lovely female form, and it's a bit more abstract. And it's anonymous!

She wishes... no, demands... to be anonymous, and I regard this as more of a study of form over a personality.

Well, dude, I’m from southern Oregon and we’re not afraid of guns tho’ I don’t get open carry, but as long as we’re being picky apparently nobody noticed the chamber is empty.

I'm going on my 3rd bareboat charter in the BVI's with the same friends I have sailed with before and I'm certainly bringing my good camera. The dry bag is a good idea, and I also like to bring some desiccant packs, too. I'm not sure if it really helps but when I'm in a moist environment I keep my camera equipment in ziplock bags with desiccant packets in them, and just take out the camera when it's time to use it... ie., don't leave it laying around in the boat when it's "off duty."

Would you mind providing some technical information? I have taken up the hobby again after many years and I would find that very helpful, if you are willing to do so.

Thanks!

I especially like the juxtaposition of her soft, flowing skin next to the ragged, sharp-looking tree bark. Great iidea.

He says, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this."

Doctor replys, "Don't do that."

If a person doesn't like the ink they shouldn't look at the ink.

And here's another perspective, IMHO: If a person were to submit a photo of a native of Papua, New Guinea, the native would in all probability have lots of ink. I doubt this conversation would arise at all. Now the younger people in our culture sport tats, piercings and shaved pubes (I guess) and that's just the way it is. Being an old guy I remember that hair length was once an overly-important issue. I hope I can simply enjoy the differences and diversity of our culture.

BTW nice photos!

Wow! They are both ghostly and other-worldly but they are both amazing photos. I love the concept.

A beautiful place. I hope they all took their trash with them.

Thanks. I'm lucky enough to live in an area where this is a 10-minute drive away! I suppose we should have taken our stuff with us when we left...
