I just switched to mirrorless due to the weight. For me, the weight was an issue due to surviving a head on collision. I'm a Canon user and decided to stay with them. There are a lot of pros and cons with each camera body. I know of issues with each but made my decision to stay with Canon. I purchased the EOS R. Yes, Nikon and Canon introduced their first full frame bodies and yes, both can will improve. Just as someone stated before, try renting one. Feel it in your hands. How it feels with and without the lenses to see if you like the grip/feel. Without the lens do you have more of a grip and with the lens, do you lose some grip?
I own the EOS M5 and love it. The reason I purchased the M5 over the M50 is due to the construction/durability of the body. I don't need 4K video as I only shoot pics. Yes, I did purchase the Canon adapter because when purchasing the body, I received a discount on the adapter and it only cost me $49.99. Yes, the M50 has the digic 8 chip but again, for the types of photos I shoot and where I shoot, I like having a durable body. I do a lot of hiking and mountain biking. This is your decision and you will need to decide if it's worth having a durable body or will you be shooting video in 4K.
Hello Everyone,
I've been a photographer for the past 23 yrs and love creating works of art. I do travel around and look for the unusual....Another reason I love photography is the ever changing field etc...I do ride a mountain bike, hike and love taking pics along the way. I do try to answer any and all questions to the best of my knowledge/experience.
