Thanks Mark. The CD re-issue from a few years ago is worth having. 2 CD's with material not on the first recording and of course the liner notes are great. Mike
Some have. Most have been torn down. Those that remain include the Unisphere, Hall of Science (now a museum), the NY Pavilion (in the pix), and a building at the far western end of the fair that was used in both the 1930's and 1960's fairs. It houses what claims 1) to be the most realistic diorama of NYC in the world 2) that includes every building in NYC at the time it was made. Its a must see.
Mark, how do you find these videos? Every single one is amazing. Mike
My son and I had the privilege of seeing Les Paul at one of his last live performances at The Iridium (he was there every Monday night for many years sometimes joined by a variety of musical giants) in NYC not long before he died. It's hard to think of anyone who has had more influence both direct and indirect over American popular music in the 20th Century.
Wonderful! Could the guys on the left hand side be Gene Krupa and Bud Powell? The former might be too young and the latter, don't think that's a piano in front of him.
Supermarket chain on Long Island growing up in the '60's. Who can forget the radio gingle...."Grand Union makes shopping more rewarding! You can do without us but we can't do without you." There was one on Newbridge Road in East Meadow and next to it was the family's favorite pizza place Villa Napoli.
Thank you for posting this Mark. One of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces of music ever written.
Straight 8 under the hood, right?
I tried to sell similar vintage gear awhile back without success. You may fare better if you live near a university or college with some type of film school. I was told that students are advised to purchase vintage film equipment for use in photography classes.

I have a Canon DSLR. Have had it a long time. I like it. A lot. I have no intention of changing. Oh and BTW I'm many things; 'dumb' is not one of them. Just sayin'.
Each railroad has its own radio frequency. Even Amtrak except when its running over tracks owned by a private company. You can monitor train locations that way.
