Admit it. You will buy another camera. What will it be?

It may be an extra/backup, or maybe you want a small compact camera for travel. Of course, you could be planning to update and replace your Main Shooter. I have my D750, Sony a6000, and Fuji X-T30, in addition so some older cameras, so I'm all set. But what about you?

Okay - You caught me –

I've been planning long (3 wks - longest we've ever done!) trip to west coast for over 6 months. Sonoma for few days w/family, and before & after (w/my wife) up along the coast from Big Sur to Oregon border. And just recently (really!) upgraded to D850 (from my D300) incl couple new VR 2.8 lenses (24-70, 70-200, 105micro). Still have most of my old stuff too – even to D200, F2, F3, (& older lenses) - if anyone interested let me know... Really wanted to see what I can get with my new gear!...

Hoping smoke won't be a problem -- everywhere... But already Pt Reyes, Sur area state parks & lighthouse, and parts of PCH are closed, as are state & nat'l forests... 😢 We just may cut short and try again in spring...

If I do get anything decent – I'll put a few pics up upon my return.

Cheers.

I, too, have all three – but just learning...

My biggest question right now: Which is best for upsizing smaller file (RAW) images? Topaz 'Clean 3' engine, as NikonBrain mentioned? Does anyone else have preferences? I will be doing some tests - will let you know my (non-techie) findings.

Fantastically beautiful, Bob! Only possible improvement would be to see (in a gallery?) six or eight feet long...

And a quick question (never have been to White Sands) - How much hiking involved? - How far from car? etc. Thanx,
Bill

Hi Mike -
I like the Morro shot too (mostly for just the reasons you mention). And a side note - It’s fairly well cropped - the overall shot included much more wall.
Great that you like lighthouses - one of my passions. I like to try to get them in unusual angles/weather/light. I’m definitely not a “blue sky” guy… Mentioning the Great Lakes – I’m originally from Michigan (Grand Rapids). A few years back I dragged my wife on an excursion around Lake Michigan. Didn’t take enough time, but got a good number of the shoreline lights in Wisc & western Mich on that trip.
Cheers, Bill

Thanks Ed.
Glad there are still some of us Nikon people still out there... Looking forward to seeing some of the images from all the community as well. As a designer, I do like to fool around and experiment with Photoshop. Always learning…

Thanx Dave -

I do too. I'm guessing I'm approaching the 200 range after all these years.

Hello Hedgehoggers -
Just new to the forum. Looks very interesting - w/good fellowship. Looking forward...
Just to introduce myself ‚
I'™m a (semi)retired graphic designer, with background in architecture too. I started shooting in college (many!) years ago.m a Nikon guy. Ever since rented an F in college for a project, shot 20 rolls of Kodachrome (with zero SLR experience), and every image was perfect! Got my first Nikon (F2 - still my favorite film camera) in 1974. In my design career, also began using 4x5 in mid-80s to shoot still life & product for packaging, catalogs, etc. But my main love is still shooting coastal-nautical-marine subjects and scenics along our shores with my Nikons.
Currently working on several contemporary-‚™vintage travel poster collections. Combining my own photos with unique typography and photoshop techniques.
Attached are a few images for your perusal. Your comments and critiques are always welcomed.

Thanx, Bill Thauer, CapeScapesCoastal
