I love challenges...but I quickly found out that wedding photography was not in my interest. but you will never know unless you try it. you definitely have to try it to see if it's your cup of tea.

the money was great....but i have always felt that if the money was the only reason i would be doing something...then it's not going to be in my best interest...but just a job. i already got one of those!!!

Guess I qualify as one of those "strange" ones. After over 20 years of weddings, I STILL love it. Same thing every weekend...but each one is totally different. STILL learning every wedding, trying new things. You haven't lived until you've had a flower girl throw up on your pants and shoes....or had a guest knock over one of your lights, have a guest tell you that you should be ashamed of yourself because you are down on the floor in the church getting a shot of the alter. "You should be ashamed of yourself. The Bride and Groom have paid a professional photographer to take pictures"
hahahahaha...well put..Bobbee br br I love challe... (show quote)

i wouldn't say strange...i would say special. thank goodness there's people out there like you that can handle this profession. if you are shooting lots of weddings and still love it, then you are one of the lucky ones whose passion is making you a living.

we are all not made alike. that's a good thing!!!

i hope you keep enjoying what you're doing.

some people are cut out to be wedding photographers. i am not. i didn't give up after the first one....i did 3 of them before i figured out it wasn't for me.

I did 3 weddings and i knew the brides and grooms......but priests, ministers, brides mothers and sisters turn into creatures from hell...and i knew them all. no thanks. I have all the respect in the world for wedding photographers.

i think the definition of an "idiot" is one who buys a nice camera and thinks they are ready for weddings.

too many things going on. a wedding photographer has first to be a good leader, psychiatrist, manipulator, charmer, problem solver, have eyes in the front and back of their heads, dictator, negotiator...need i go on?

the 3 weddings i did were very successful but it was like a warzone throughout the entire weddings.

no thanks....not for me!!! think i'll stick with what i'm doing.

God Bless the wedding photographers!!!

I won't even take on as a second shooter for the local photographers.

I have recently just started getting more into photography. I have been shooting in JPEG and have been very pleased with my pictures. I just started shooting in raw but it has just made things more complicated for me. I would like to eventually shoot family photoes and children. Do you think it would be ok if I just staying with shooting in JPEG?

if you are happy with your jpgs...stay with jpg.

I haven't subscribed either but plan when to when they stop supporting CS6. Hopefully have a few years.

One thing I read about that I would like to have is that they implemented going to ACR as a filter. I have trouble using the "open as" method in CS6 because I usually go to Photoshop from Lightroom.

go to russellbrown dot com and download for free the script for cs6 to edit photoshop layers with camera raw (same controls as lightroom). it is awesome. i have cc, but still have cs6 on my computers...when my subscription comes due again, i am cancelling. i love to edit my layers in camera raw. this script will do it in cs6 and it's free.

if you have any questions on this or need some assistance..please send me a pm.

Beautiful picture. I can't get enough pictures of our little 'kids'. Thank you for sharing. I know you love them.

thanks!

yes, they are our babies. we have had yorkies before, they have all been great, but these 2 touch our heart in another level. they are ornery, spoiled, misbehave, wild, etc...but they have grabbed us the most.

i love your avatar!!! beautiful puppy!!

thanks everybody!

Abbie is 13 years old and has bladder cancer. she's very active little dog. she's not in any pain or suffering. when that day comes, we will have to do the task we dread. the vet says that day is coming soon.

until then, we will enjoy her every minute we can.

catching her sleeping is rare! she still thinks she's a puppy.

thanks again.

i love taking pet photos.....maybe that's my calling!!!

Lovely pictures that you will treasure, we had to make that last trip to the vet with our Cocker Spaniel, Buddy a few years ago after having him for 16.5 years. It was very hard to do but at least we have the option when we don't want them to suffer. Enjoy the time you have left withAbbie.

16.5 years........that's major for sure.

the yorkie we had before these 2 lived 15 years.

Jim, that is very sad news. Your pictures are wonderful and they will be around for you to enjoy. I had to put one of my dogs down--she was a mutt--a couple years ago and I still miss her, hair and all. Good luck.

in my book...no such thing as a mutt.....they are our babies.
