Love to see pictures of Uluru - Here is mine from 2000, taken with Ektachrome film, using a Contax
G2 with Zeiss 21 mm lens. I still have the camera, but the film was available in Australia. We were
camping and somewhere I have the sunrise photo from another location.

Doesn’t look real! Way over saturated!

I love Sony especially the A77 and the A77ii.
I like the feel of the DSLR.
One of mine is a refurb and is trouble free.

Guess I'm prejudice.

Buy the way I own the A77ii and it in Not a DSLR! Where have you been?

An edit out of my shots of the total solar eclipse, here in Grapevine , Texas, USA. I had to dodge the cloud cover all the time, but had a few breaks where the eclipse came through the clouds and haze. 1:40pm CDT for the totality. First the totality with the Solar Prominences , then Second as the sun re- emerges though the cloud cover and you can also see Solar Prominences erupting from the sun's surface.

Sony A1 camera, Sony 200-600mm lens, 600mm, f8, ISO 100, bracketed shutter speeds, AF, center area, on a Sirui tripod. I did use a K&F ND100000 Solar filter for the partialities, but removed it for these totality shots.

Click on download to see better image quality of each individual shot.

Solar Prominences are a bit different than Solar Flares, but solar prominences can become solar flares if they totally break free of the sun's surface.

Here an explanation of the difference:

Since you have the 600, why not get a high quality 1.4x converter? The combination will be a bit more than 800 mm, and you’ll lose just 1 stop.

It should be about the same price as a 2x converter alone.

You’ll save the cost of buying a 400 mm lens, which would lose 2 stops with the 2x converter.

On my Sony RX10M4 it has a feature called Clear Image Zoom that essentially doubles the focal length to 1200mm with no image degradation. The only draw back is you have to shoot jpegs.

But the Sony FE 200-600 is just a touch better... But heavier than the whole RX10 IV.

How would you know that? Have you compared Images? Are you a Pixel Peeper? A touch better. What’s touch better?

Just an observation. I dont think that is a true 600mm. It should be more like 200mm with the rest being a crop factor. It is basically the field of view of a 600mm with the magnification of a 200mm.

How would you know that? BS! When I take a 600mm picture using this camera the data says 600mm! Don’t think they are inaccurate. Obviously you have Never used this camera..Right?

The best super zoom on the planet is 24-600mm on the RX10m4. If you are serious about lighter weight travel, the RX10 should be your next camera.

I am a Nikon shooter and was excited to put the Tamron z 150-500mm lens on my z50. I was ready to do more wildlife and birds in flight photography until I spent some time with this beautiful beast….it is too darn heavy for me to hold still and I am not inclined to lug a tripod around when I get the urge to shoot some wildlife when I am close to nature. At 75 I admit I am not as strong as I’d like and holding that lens isn’t getting easier.

So I am returning it to Adorama today and exchanging it for the Sony cyber shot RX10 IV. I guess a bridge camera isn’t so bad….(right?)…..and it sure will make my sometimes forays into nature a little easier. I just hope I don’t have pangs of regret and envy when I encounter folks with those big, beautiful telephoto lens in the field.🥹

You Can’t go wrong with the Sony! I own this Wonderful camera. I’m 70 and the RX10 IV will make your excursions Much Easier without losing image quality. No worries about changing lenses. F2.4-f4 aperture.

I love my Sony RX100v . I have recently looked into the Sony HX99 for more reach but you give up a bit of image quality. But they are still better than a cell phone. The Sony RX100v and RX100vii are a bit pricy. The HX99 is reasonable. Both are slightly larger than a deck of cards.

If money is no object then the Sony RX100vii is the Best pocket camera you can buy! I own this camera so I’m not just reading off the internet.

Have you ever used a High End Smart Phone camera like Apple or Samsung? I think not!
