I am so very sorry for your loss and I am sure that you gave Ali a wonderful loving life. I know that this pain gets less & less with time and when it does, you will become aware that your mutual love is still very much in your heart. It always will be there and it will comfort you. Peace to you.

What an interesting photo. All of the people on the left side are young and are running toward something. The two people on the right side are older and are walking away from it. They look quite content. "Every picture tells a story, don't it, don't it."

Glad to hear that you will be visiting New England. Maine is a wonderful state and Linda's suggestions were right on the spot. You mentioned an interest in whale watching and here is some info which may be helpful. If you go whale watching in Massachusetts from Cape Cod, Boston or Gloucester on the North Shore, the entire area is Stellwagen Bank. If you Google it, you will get great information and if you go to Wikipedia, you will get good concise info; if you pass your cursor over the types of whales, you will get a thumbnail and 1-2 sentences. All of the whale watching is great and I liked Gloucester the best, a smaller boat on Capt. Bill's, great viewing and the North Shore is wonderful. If you go on any whale watch, buy your tickets in advance as they sell out early and bring a sweater or sweatshirt as it can get cold under certain conditions, e.g, early or late day, early or late season, when the boats accelerate to and from the sites. Good afternoon from Massachusetts. I have been visiting this site for a few months, having come upon it serendipiitously. I just loved it from the beginning but I very quickly began moving back & forth between inspiration and intimidation. This is a site for photographers and not really for picture takers which I loved to do in my earlier days with a Minolta. So when I retired I decided to go for it and learn how to do it really well. So.....I found this site and somewhere between moments of holding my breath, I went out and bought a camera. This is a wonderful site and I admire the affection & respect among you.
