In line power converters convert AC to DC but they do not filter out all of noise in the line. I would suggest you get a UPS. What other appliances on on the same circuit? What voltage is really being delivered to the power outlet?

When you say you are using a power strip is it surge protected?

Also if you use the monitor for only two months a year, how much dust has accumulated inside the monitor?

The west coast will give great opportunities almost every where. But in addition to all the sites everyone else listed, try Garnish Island, Blarney castle grounds, ancient beehive homes.

May can be a little bit early for many of the gardens. It can also be wet so pack accordingly.

I disagree with that.
We got to go into places with our tour that the general public does not get to. Like dinning in the Queens dinning room at Hillsboro castle, private cooking class, touring a sheep farm and seeing the dogs at work... Plus lots of free time without trying to find our way around the narrow roads (dont forget they drive on the wrong sied of the road). Also you can enjoy the pubs when you don't have to drive afterwards.

Just spent 2 weeks there last May. Only had a 3 or 4 rainy days. Took a tour with Globus. It went all around the island (nothing in the interior). Plenty of photo ops plus. Got to visit the Dingle peninsula, Belfast, Waterford, Garnish Island, Blarney,Ring of Kerry... If you are limited to time I would recommend the West cost (The Wild Atlantic side). Plenty of ocean views, harbors, villages, cliffs, castels...
