Someone suggested the government do something about all the commercials. That won't happen. What's happening is the broadcasters need more money. Their executive pay is skyrocketing while revenue is shrinking. Broadcast TV is going downhill what with all the cable/streaming services so they put in more ads to get more money. They don't think about lowering expenses!. Soon broadcast TV will have the same problems that newspapers are facing - possible extinction. For us, we use the recorder with the Dish system and then fast-forward the commercials. I refuse to watch commercials anymore.

To KillroyII. I never made it to Udorn except at the airport on the way home. The thing I remember the most is that was where I FELT like the coldest I have ever been. After weeks of +100 degrees, all of a sudden it dropped to around 70 and we felt like we were going to freeze. We were 40 miles from the Laotian border and 40 miles inside that border, in Laos were two divisions of No. Vietnamese army and 80 miles of hwy in between. Fun Times!!

I was looking at Onedrive because the two systems are 75 miles apart and I can upload at one house and then download at the second house, but a large flash drive would work too. I have lots of photos as well as many model train files. Eventually I want to use this computer to automate a model train layout.

This is no doubt true but many bad guys send phishing emails and look to see who unsubscribes from their website and then use this information.

I have a question for the "Computer Geeks" among us. I am installing a PC into our other house (for a number of reasons - camera monitoring among other things). Anyway, I want to copy many of the files on PC1 to PC2. What's the best way to do it? OneDrive seems like a good way, or should I get a USB Flash Drive?. I don't need to copy everything at one time and have hi speed internet now available at house #2 as well as house #1. Thanks, Nick Marks, Dublin, Ca.

Simple---Click UNSUBSCRIBE on the emails. At some point you ordered a product or sent them an email or as anybody else would say one of your companies has been paid for your email address. Such is life on the internet today.

Be VERY careful about using Unsubscribe. Many times this method is used by the bad guys to determine that yours is a "live" address and it can open you up to many more unwanted emails!!

I totally agree about getting tired of the "Lume" ads, as well as so many other ads. It seems that the number of ads has increased. More time in ads than actual programming. But on another item, someone mentioned Joey Heatherton from many moons ago. What a doll!!. Her husband at the time, NFL receiver Lanze Rentzel really screwed up. He had her to come home to and lost it!!.

I totally agree that St Judes does great work (Danny Thomas founded it and a former sister-in-law was a nurse there). Also there are many other great organizations. One problem is which one to go to. I'm sure they will take credit card donations but I was told they want to be able to make monthly donations automatically and I don't like that. They didn't want just a one time donation. It's not the charity but the fund raising group they contract with. Another good group here is the Shriners Childrens Hospital, but I got the same story from them (probably the same fund raisers). I don't mean to degrade the charities themselves, I just get so tired of seeing the same commercials over and over, knowing how they operate.

I am tired of all the ads for different "non-profits" such as "St Judes, etc". They are probably wonderful organizations but I tried to see how I can send direct donations to them and was told they don't want donations, they want credit card numbers so they can take monthly amounts. They know that most people give credit card numbers and then forget about it. I tell them that I refuse to give them credit card numbers so no donations from me. I have not owned a credit card for over 20 years. With my business degree I understand the system.

My only problem with this photo and the problems surrounding it is this - Who the hell cares! Why does the "royal family" attract so much attention? It's not like they have any real power! Don't folks have better things to worry about??

Those were gorgeous cars, and a 4-speed no less ( the main reason I hate automatics is often the lack of compression braking, and I'm so used to the big truck 10-speeds). I read that the hawk was to compete with the T-Bird but in those days (including the Avanti), Studebaker, in my humble opinion, had much better styling. It took the T-Bird a while to catch up.

I'm glad someone mentioned the Avanti. I remember wanting one years ago and really loved the look. I just couldn't find one with a 4 or 5 speed. I hate automatics. That.s the same reason I didn't get another of my favorite cars, the Buick Grand National - A real hotrod but only made with an automatic.
