Hi Guys,
Some shots taken from outside of the airshow on the A15.
As those who were there know the Sun played a huge part. We Brits not used to the heat or a badly placed Sun.

Nice!
One remark: How close is too close, would be even more convincing if the people in the foreground had the same sharpness as the aircraft. The depth of field now shows them at a different distance than the aircraft.
Just my opinion.

Hi Esther,
Thanks for the remarks, I don't usually take people, It was the aircraft I was following, then thought what idiots. Usually I morph their features out, more so if there are kids about, have been challenged in the past.

Hi Guys,
We in the UK have had the most amazing year for a special family of birds. Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus). Everybody wants to see them, sitting high on the trees flying down to the feed then back on high again. Soon they will leave us as they go to their breeding ground, Come Back Soon, Missing you Already

I think they came out OK, they were taken at an angle through a double glazed window. Your always learning been a photographer for 40 plus years. The bird would have not been an image in my camera had I checked everything first.
Thanks for your comments.
I do not use auto focus or software, wheres the fun in that
Hi Guys,
Ever had one of those days, I looked out my window and caught a huge flock of birds flying over the garden, wondered what had scared them, it was a Sparrowhawk. Looked away for a moment, corner of my eye caught the hawk it had landed on my fence. Grabbed the camera and stated to shoot some shots, looked to see what I'd got.
AAGGHHH no Card in camera, dashed around found a card popped it in, hoping the bird had not flown. Managed to get a few before it saw me and took off. Heart pumping stuff.
Hope you like the results.

If you look at the grey metal strips beneath the door that's the level of the floor, No walk ways inside. The trains are powered by the over head cables the Cogs control the climb and decent, very smoothly. Because of the angle, the people in the next section are above you. What I found was to sit in the second train going down and in that Car by sitting facing the drivers back you had a clear view. Going up was BAD, everyone seeing for the first time, you got body parts. The seating is tight two rows facing each other, the carriages look big, but they're not. We had to go up and down the same way as the winds were too strong for the return on the gondolas. If you ever get the chance to go, Do not take the first trains up. Madness, like animals ( but that's giving animals a bad name) people pushing you out of the way, no concern for old or young. Its the same for the return trip down, everyone heads for the first train, that's why I got in the second.

In 2010 August, went on a coach trip to Switzerland for our 25th anniversary. Met some of your fellow countrymen on the Pilatus Mountain Railway Luzern. Swapped emails, as they just couldn't get the images they wanted, I volunteered to send. As promised I did, Never got a reply, could be that they never got them and may think low of me.
One of this set may jog their/your memory if their are on this site, send me a PM and I will send you the images I took up and down the mountain. On that Holiday I took 17,000 images ( I know its a lot, but you just cannot pop back to capture something that you got wrong). and have used 5500 for slideshows.
