Thank you all for the kind words. I would have sent the original but like I said, I am staying at a fancy house on Lake Tahoe that has an internet speed that would be an embarrassment in 1990 let alone 2018.

Thanks, I was going to upload my original but where I am at the moment I have extremely slow internet. I was honestly wondering if there was a 14.4K modem as our connection.

So I was able to take a really nice Milky Way photo this past summer (at least I thought it was good). And I'm trying to get out more for nighttime photography. So I went to Joshua Tree NM a few weeks ago and gave it a try. I did manage to go on a day with pretty clear skies, bit it had rained a whole bunch the previous few days so it was actually quite moist (frost on the ground), so moist in fact that my lens got all fogged over after being out a half hour or so. Anyway, this was one of my better shots.

Enjoy,

Absolutely call the credit card company and report them as fraud. I did this with a music subscription service. I canceled them (or so they told me on the phone). The next month I had a charge, called them back and told them to refund my money now while I am on the phone or I am reporting them as fraud. They said they cannot refund the money because they back bill. I told them I had previously canceled so they are steeling my money. I called the credit card company, they immediately took the charge off and said they would deal with the company. I never received another charge, and my credit card company still loves me.

Exactly. But after reading lots of comments on Z6/Z7 and now EOS R, it they don't put two memory cards in the body, it will fail. Oops, now that Canon says there will only be one cheaper version of the memory card than Nikon uses, it will be fine.

Not to get too far off subject, but Tesla is finding out the hard way that there’s more to actually producing (and marketing/selling automobiles (at a profit) than just an interesting/innovative design.

My point being anybody, nobody, somebody may someday create a new product that will completely change the existing dynamic. Like or hate Tesla, how they manufacture or don't, make money or don't, isn't the issue. They created a product (their first roadster) that cased the world of auto manufacturing to stand up and take note. Gasoline isn't the only high performance power source, batteries are. And as VW just proved with their Pikes Peak climb, anybody can come out with a winning product.

IMHO the death knell has begun to toll for the DSLR although it will not happen quickly since change is not ever received well, but is inevitable.

Agree 100%, the DSL will die a long slow, painless death. The winner may be Nikon, Sony, Cannon, or Tesla. It will take 20+ years for all this to shake out, but in the end, DSL is on its way out, mirrorless is on its way in. And while Tesla may not be the winner, some unknown or yet to be formed company, or yet to be born kid may ultimately make the mirrorless camera that everyone has to have.

I can't believe one card slot. First Nikon says we are done with photography as a business, now Cannon. I mean really could we please just throw out all this new fangled stuff like computers without CD ROM drives, phones without cords, cars without points, heck, cars without gasoline engines. And go back to the good old days when you needed a horse and wagon to carry around your glass plates and do real photography.

One card slot? The world will end tomorrow.

Well said. I have been amused by all the angst on this site over 1 memory card slot in the Nikon Z6 and 7. I've seen comments (a lot of comments) that no professional would be caught in public with a one memory card camera. So I can only surmise that there were no professional photographers when all cameras had only one roll of film in a camera at a time. No professional must have ever used the Nikon F4 since there was no backup.

As I said previously, there comes a time when you give up on the old technology and embrace the new. Perhaps those that were most aghast at one card slot are busy this morning having their points adjusted in their cars.

Well, other than 8” floppies.

Please, let's not leave out those who have iron core rings for their computer memory:)

I'm pretty sure that's why its called core.

And why is this?
What advantage is this besides hype?

Just my humble opinion. I may be wrong. Writing this I know I may be wrong. But I read so many certitudes about how this camera is crap that no pro in his right mind would use.

Time will tell.

I still find it interesting how many nay sayers are here. If you don't like dual memory cards, that is your opinion, but to say No pro will ever buy this camera because of the lack of dual memory cards? Sorry, I think many pros will buy this camera. Is this the best camera to ever hit the market? Probably not. Does it offer something that was not there before? Yep. The distance from flange to sensor seems to me to be the biggest thing. 5 years from now Nikon will have lenses that do things that nobody else has. Is this camera for everyone? Nope. Will they sell thousands? Yep. Is it a good camera? Certainly the Nikon chosen reviewers think it is a great camera, not a replacement for everything under the sun, but another tool that can do things they find useful.

The same was said about Apple when they "forget" to include an ear phone jack in the iPhone.

I've heard all the reasons for dual memory cards, just saying there comes a time when...

I've read a lot of angst about the single card slot. Certainly a card failure would be catastrophic. But then again, technology moves toward. I am sure many will respond that they have indeed had card failures and are thankful that they had a backup. But hopefully, technology gets more reliable. When was the last time an Apple computer had a CD drive? An iPhone had an ear phone jack? When was the last time you took your car in to have the points adjusted? Clutch replaced? Spark plugs gapped or replaced? Carburetor adjusted?

Will there be cases when someone with a Z6 or Z7 has a card failure and looses all their pictures? Certainly. But I am guessing it will be less often than it might have been a year or 5 ago.

A second card slot would certainly have made for a heavier, bulkier camera body. Nikon choose to move forward just like Apple has disposed of the CD ROM and the ear phone jack on their iPhones.
