I bought the D3400, and then the D5300 and gave the D3400 to my daughter. From what you described though I would recommend the D3400 as it does what you want that I have no use for, it's the connectivity. You can download all of your photos to your phone automatically with the D3400, I didn't want that. Be sure to upgrade the firmware though for it to work correctly.

Will do, thanks for the reminder. On my own post somebody mentioned it so I’ll do it soon. But yeah I tend to leave the Bluetooth on so any photo I take instantly goes to my phone, that way if anyone asks I can just text them the photo right there.

1. click "quote reply" instead of "reply" and we will know exactly who you are replying to. On this thread it may not be necessary but on others with a lot of posts it can get confusing.

2. http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/products/330/D3400.html Three tabs, one for manuals and use guides, one for firmware (you can upgrade your own firmware - find instructions on the site) and one for software which includes Nikon's processing software.

Oh okay, thank you. And yeah I clicked “quote reply” but erased the message that you wrote because I thought it’d post it again haha, sorry.

Yeah that’s true, and no I don’t have the processing program but I’ll look at their website to see if I can find it, but if you have a link that’d be greatly appreciated. I have a MacBook Pro from 2012, not the greatest but does have an sd card slot which is nice.

I have two 16GBs but I’m going on a trip to Cuba soon so I’d like to have enough space for a lot of photos and high quality videos on the same card. And yeah I read that after a while they remove the photos from here which is understandable.

Yeah currently I’m saving up for a 200GB memory card, and I use SnapBridge to link my photos from my camera to my phone, it keeps the quality but yeah I’ll post it here from now on since I have iCloud so they’ll be on my computer as well.

Apparently it’s a “yellow legged Gull”? Not sure but saw it on a bird identification website. http://carolinabirds.org/HTML/Gull.htm and this is the actual photo that matches the one I took, the rest look different.

No, I used my Nikon D3400, with a 70-300mm lens. However I uploaded this to Facebook and downloaded it again from Facebook to post it here. (I use Facebook as a photodump to save space on my phone/camera haha but it does down the quality with is unfortunate).

Here’€™s a side shot of it, I have others if this one doesn’€™t help. Thank you though.

I enabled it, let me know if it worked. Thank you for the tip, not sure if the quality will be great since I got it from Facebook, where I usually upload my photos.

I'm not sure what type of bird this is, but it was flying around the lake next to my backyard. I have tons of shots of it but i'll post one for now. I'm also in central Florida if that helps narrow down the search for anyone that wants to know what type of bird it is. I'm new to this website as well if it's not obvious enough haha. - Michael

The D3400 has fairly good deals going around from time to time. It's my first DSLR and it's pretty good. I got it for around $400 and it came with a 18-55mm and the 70-300mm lens you're looking for, along with a camera bag so it wasn't a bad deal. Haven't heard to much on the D5300 so I can only really say anything about the D3400, and that is that it's definitely worth it. Good luck on your search! - Michael
