I fly every month both domestic and international. I always have a Nikon Z9 with a couple of long lenses in a carry on bag. If you cannot carry it on, do not bring it!!
Glad to see your reply. It is not easy and often not affordable to have such principles but I agree with you
Hi Eric. I live in Costa Rica. Being a family vacation I wouldn’t burden yourself with too much. I have shot for years with the D500 and would definitely bring your 70-200 and 18-70. You can cover a lot of ground with those. Consider leaving the D5600 home!
As the owner of a Z9 who shoots wildlife and lives in Costa Rica, given a choice I would visit Costa Rica as the photos and memories will outlast the camera!
Hi Ken…All depends on what you enjoy shooting. If you like wildlife then your Z6 and a long lens. I live on the west coast of CR and flew back to the states for a visit last night. Believe me, you can work magic there with most lenses in your kit! Enjoy your trip!!
Like many others, I was reminded of the goodness that so many people display in their lives. I thank you for posting this especially when so much sadness exists in the world and I thank the generous photographer who helped me see the bright side of people!

Good afternoon and congratulations on booking a photo tour in Costa Rica. If you truly want to go I would be about 99% certain that the trip will take place with little issue. I returned to the United States yesterday from Costa Rica and I am currently a resident of Costa Rica and travel back-and-forth between the states on a monthly basis. It is quite easy to travel in both directions and Costa Rica has been a level four destination since Covid. Life goes on! Good luck and I hope you enjoy your tour!
Hi Ron...if the size and weight are not an issue for you with the D500 I do not believe you would be upset with that decision. I have owned the D300 as well and the move to the D500 is amazing. If you transition to wildlife in addition to landscape the reach is incredible with some affordable Nikon glass. Good luck!
