Actually I like the angle. It shows not only the head clearly but also the way the duck tucks its feet under its tail in flight. Great shot!

Better to be kicking the can than kicking the bucket! Here's to many more good years ahead.

My parents' generation undoubtedly wrote many of us youngsters off for the clothes we wore, the length of our hair, our zeal for protests and expressing our different points of view. Just as with the current younger generations, our interests and fads came and went, frequently without the blessing of our parents. I'm sure they (the Great Generation) often looked upon us with a mixture of head-shaking and sadness that we did not more fully embrace their values, interests and perspectives.

No doubt the younger generations will continue to do what interests them rather than their elders, just as we did (and may still do today). If that means that such things as UHH forums have less appeal to them, so be it. They have their own lives to live, in a world vastly different from the one most of us grew up in.

Interesting thread. I occasionally add a comment to one, but I have not posted any photos. The gallery section seems to have plenty already, and I prefer to post pics to my website, primarily for family and friends.

I love my new Sony a6700, but my sentimental favorite will always be my old a6000. Small, light-weight and fun to use, it was my constant travel companion for years of globe-trotting. It may not see much use in the future, but I'll keep it just because I like it.

A long shot, but was anyone else standing near you and taking photos at the same time using a flash? If so, it may be your shadow on the wall.

Fascinating photos --- thanks for taking us on a trip that most of us probably will not experience in person!

We took a wonderful cruise through the Norway fjords during the early part of June last year. We were lucky with the weather, but we knew it could be highly variable and packed lots of layers. Be sure to take a rain jacket and rain pants, which protect against the wind as well as the rain.

It is a spectacular area to cruise (I posted some pics on the website below), and I hope the weather gods cooperate for your trip. Good luck!

Any suggestions on photography along the Amalfi coast, particularly Positano? By land or by small boat? Cruise will have one day in Sorrento and one day in Almalfi in late October. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

We stayed in Amalfi and visited Positano and Sorrento (as well as Pompeii). You can get good shots of each town from the sea (we travelled by the ferry between Amalfi and Positano), but each is also worth visiting on land if you have the time.

For some examples of shots you may want to take, please scroll down my website below to the 2019-10 Italy albums.

Have a great trip!
