I've lived in SD for 50+ years and never heard of the "59 Mile Drive"; I shall give it a try! The Drive notwithstanding, for a 1-3 day overview of the area's Spanish Colonial and military history, I suggest: The MCRD Museum + Liberty Station Museum, Cabrillo National Monument (and its tide pools), The Midway, and Balboa Park. What you do NOT need to visit are Old Town, downtown and Tijuana. (Please tell him, for me, "Thanks for your service!")

It is comforting to know there is, at least, one other who abhors the many injustices we heap on the Queen's English!

I've never done this... how does one make a confidential bid on this lot?

You're a genius! The box was not selected... it is now and my watermarks 'work' again! If you're ever in San Diego, I'll buy you a beer... or several!

For some time now I've been watermarking my images using PS and a rather easy procedure:
1) Finish image and leave it in the workspace.
2) Open watermark (pgn format) and slide it onto the image.
3) Using the Move tool, I move the watermark to the desired location, grab one of the handles and resize it.
4) Flatten the image and VOILA!

Unfortunately, about a week ago, I stopped being able to resize the watermark! Of course, it is way too big as is, so I'm screwed.

Any suggestions? I fully expect the issue to be some arcane setting in PS that has been switched inadvertently because everything else works fine.

Please Hoggers... can you help me?

I use one focus point and AFS (on the closest eye) when doing portraits, 11 points and AFC when shooting birds. Experiment and have fun!

If you enjoy post processing and don't mind spending a lot of time on each portrait, don't buy it. Yes, there is a learning curve so don't apply too much 'electronic make up', but it's worth it! If you do lots of portraits, buy it.

I thought it was only me, or perhaps, there was something wrong with my computer. But, now that I know I'm not a lone voice in the wilderness, the next time I see a photo that makes me bilious, I shall offer constructive criticism, if I can... and snarks be damned. If I can't be constructive, I'll just swallow the bile and quietly move on.

Your model in #1 is stunning and the lighting (rim, etc) is excellent! However I do a have a beef with your composition... The image is WAY too busy. You have arms running in all directions, fingers, and a blouse that is distracting as heck. My eyes are moving all over the image when they should be riveted on the model's eyes. May I suggest you reshoot and ask model to wear a solid, primary colored blouse with a plain collar... or scoop or vee neck. Just sayin...

It burns my soul to pay California tax but, I usually buy all my gear at George's in San Diego. It's worth it to me so I can be assured it will work properly, and I get good, solid advice. https://www.georgescamera.com/

It's like any software, if you don't know what you're doing, you're going to create disaster. It is easy to overdo, for sure, but I've been using Portrait Pro for years and love the results... as do my clients.

No. You have an image that APPEARS larger. But, in reality, all you've done is save memory space and allow for faster bursts... but, that can be a good thing.

Please don't practice portrait photography on something as important as your daughter's senior photos. In this case, I suggest it's prudent to hire someone who knows what they are doing! However, if you decide to press on with your DIY, please practice, practice, practice before the shoot!
