Book a tour to Volunteer Point to see the King Penguin colony. It is apx. a two hour excruciating ride over open range to get to the beach where three different penguin's have set up their colonies. I recommend using Patrick Watts Tours. It is well worth the drive

In St Martens, make your way over to Maho Beach on the Dutch side and watch the jumbo jets land at the airport. They come in just a few feet above the beach. I swear you can almost touch them as they touch down. You can get some great photos. There is a bar there where you can sit and watch the planes land and take off. The big jets take off right there too and people hang onto the fence and are blown off their feet. It is a wild thing to see and photograph. If I remember right the big jets come in in the morning. Just Google Maho beach and you will see many amazing photos. You can thank me later....

I hadn't taken any fireworks pictures since my stone age film days. I wanted to try my hand this July 4th at capturing the Big Bay Boom fireworks display over San Diego Bay. I really studied all the tips given by UHH members the last few weeks and reread my Nikon How To books to make sure I knew how to use my cameras functions. With tips in hand, I felt really confident that I would get some good pictures. I bracketed my shots, tried different apertures and exposure times. The attached pictures are a couple that I really liked. I got the best results using F8 for 8 seconds. Other than some cropping on a couple of the pictures, the results are the way they came out of the camera. No PP. Again, thanks for all the tips!

Thank-you for the advice. Your pictures make me ready to go! I was thinking about keeping my camera and gear in a camera bag and putting it out on our cabin veranda a few hours before I intend to use it and thought this might help it from fogging up. I appreciate all the information and tips I have received. Everyone on here is great!

In March I will be going on a cruise thru the Panama Canal with stops in several Central American countries. I have been told that it will be hot and muggy. I was wondering if I should be concerned about camera condensation when going from an air conditioned cabin to the outside to take pictures? Any tips or precautions that you might have for me would be appreciated. Thanks

I am new at photography and have a question. When I see a professional photographer on TV, most of the time the telephoto lens they use is black with light grey bands around the lens. What kind of lens is this, and what is the difference between it and most long lenses that are used by the main stream photographer...
