I guess it just depends on the way your taught to corespond and encourage people. Multiple question marks can be intrepreted as, "you've got to be kidding me or are you serious?" All capped words can be taken as raising your voice or an insulting tone, and teenage slang used is usually used in negative conotation. Maybe this time it was not meant that way.....I sure hope not. I did not agree with the OP reply, but I can see why she felt as if she was being insulted or made to feel inferior. That is why I gently reminded her to, "keep calm and carry on." Let's just be encouraging to everyone, we all had to get our start in the business somehow. I know there are people who have devoted a lot of time and money to a formal education in photography, and I totally respect those professionals and there knowledge. I am not formally educated in photography, but I am able to make a nice supplement to my other part time job because of the rual area I live in where there are not a lot of photographers. I read all I can, soak up all the advice I can get, and take several thousand pictures a month. Slowly but surely, I have built up my skills, knowledge, and confidence. So, I know what it is like to have a consumer grade camera and be told that I just couldn't do it, but I am so thankful for the people that have believed in me and encouraged me. I hope I can pay that same encouragement forward. :) Best Regards to All!

Rhonda, I don't think anyone was condescending when they were asking the questions that were asked. They were merely trying to establish all the criteria needed to offer useful opinions.

If anyone should have been ashamed, it would be the OP for the way she treated people trying to help.

Judging by the tone of the conversations at present, I suspect some PMing has taken place between any of the parties to whom this would pertain.

P.S. Those are some very nice shots.

I would suggest renting a faster lens also. I just rented one for $40 dollars for the weekend, so you can get them very reasonable. If the lens doesnt have an image stablizer, you will need your tripod or monopod for sure .If possible it would be good to visit the church ahead of time, but you need to keep in mind that as the seasons change, so will the lighting in the church throughout the times of day, if there are a lot of windows, so plan for that. Do you know any photographers that have shot there before that could help you? Your ISO will need to be bumped up considerably too, as the nice gentleman stated earlier. Shame on the people above that were not very positive and condescending when coresponding with you. "THE one and only?" ....."I was wondering the same thing."..... "just sayin...." (I teach high school and "just sayin" is one of the kids favorite things to say when they are trying to point out someones mistakes or flaws. Needless to say, I am not a fan of that phrase....Just keep calm and carry on and remember that honey catches more flies than vinegar. :)My husband and I married over twenty years ago,at the time we had no money and had a very small wedding. So, we hired a photographer that was not experienced in weddings......the pictures are not that great....but they were ok and it hasn't ruined my marriage, we are still very much in love. I do however wish that the pictures were a little better.... Let your sister look at your past work,I assume she already has, and knows that you only have 12 weddings under your belt. Explain to her that you need to rent a lens or two, and do all your homework before the big day. If she is on a tight budget, renting your equipment will save her a lot of money compared to hiring a photographer, and the person shooting for her will be someone who loves her and wants to do the best job possible. As long as you are totally honest with her about your ability and equipment I "THINK" you will do a great job. Having faith in youself and "thinking" you can accomplish anything as long as you put your mind to it is half the battle! Good luck and feel free to message me in private if you like and I will help you all I can.

Ok I checked the hue and saturation... reduced just the yellow channel to nothing (-100) then turned the hue down to -62 or something like that ... it helped but not totally gone.

Yes, I do think it helped!

I am certainly no expert but I am fairly certain that you had some tungsten light falling on the subject. Here is a snapshot where there was a tungsten bulb in the ceiling fixture to the right of the subject (photo left) and a fluorescent bulb in the ceiling ficture to the left of the subject (photo right). You can easily see the yellow cast from the tungsten on the subjects right side.

I can certainly see this. Thanks for taking the time to send this, it is a good example. I appreciate it!

Thought I'd include a version 2 where all the yellow cast is removed throughout the photo ( A different process using average blur and a curves adjustment layer).

Can you tell me how to PM you with an attachment? I am new at this. Step by step instructions would be wonderful! I truly appreciate it.

to correct, if you have a editing program that will let you adjust the saturation level of the color channel, you might try reducing the yellow channel little bit.

I will try this, thanks so much!!!
