I took this photo this morning during a hike at Fort Yargo State Park in Georgia.

This is the first time I used trekking poles. I think I will get a new pair with shock absorbers.

Any recommendations are welcome.

iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Has anyone tried this popcorn popper? Gets high raves from infomercials. I’m interested but have been quite disappointed with a few gadgets in the past.

From this month’s Consumer Reports magazine:

Top Popper
Dash Hot Air Popcorn Popper(16 cups). $20. This machine gave us light, toasty kernels with a pleasant snap when chewed. Even unseasoned, the flavor was excellent.

I plan to buy this.

4/4/'24.

The sky wasn't impressive, so had to look for other points of attraction.

Comments and critiques welcome.

I really like how the lighting makes photo #2 unique and interesting.

Hi all- I have Nikon D7500. Is it possible to activate the BRK button one time and have 3 or 5 exposures done in sequence automatically? Or do I need to hold the BRK button down for each exposure? Doe it matter if I have the shot setting at S single-shot or CL or CH continuous shots? Right now I have not found any difference, need to push the BRK button each time for each exposure. Am I missing something? Would an intervalometer make any difference? I tried that and maybe I set it up wrong but again I had to push the exposure button of the meter each time. Thanks for ideas.

I have a Nikon D7500. I only do bracketing on a tripod. I set up for 3 exposures with a 2 second delay. I use live view with touch focus and shutter. Make sure the release mode dial is set to time delay. Then I saved this U1. Using this method I only need to touch the screen one time and focus exactly where I want.

I took this photo a few years ago in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and I believe I used the above technique.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND: I've been taking pictures since 1958 when my grandmother bought me my first camera, a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye. I like to think that those simple beginnings brought me to where I am today. I currently sell my work domestically and internationally through two websites. I'm self-trained but have taken a class here and there on lighting techniques and darkroom operations. With the dawn of digital imaging, I have left the darkroom in favor of digital editing.

THE EMOTION OF PHOTOGRAPHY: I now have the time (I'm retired) to travel and explore with my cameras. While I have been known to take more than 5,000 photos in a single day, I try to be selective with my scenes. The only time I take a large number of shots is when photographing wildlife. That said, I have spent hours in a single location; shooting from different angles and changing light. The overriding factor in this is how I felt about the scene. What was I thinking, feeling, and remembering while I viewed the subject? There is a line in the Star Trek IV "The Voyage Home" where the testing computer asks Spock "How do you feel?" That is how I approach my photography. I take notes about the scene and what I was feeling and why I stopped to take those photos. I do the same thing in post-production processing. What I felt plays a part in how I crop the scene and adjust the lighting.
Last year I began writing stories and poetry to mate with my photographs. All of those works have been copyrighted and are now being published into a series of photo/poetry books. Here is an example: "Abandoned Buckboard"

Here are three new photos I took recently with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I posted photo#2 in a previous Photo Gallery post.

Vickery Creek Falls is located in Roswell, Georgia.

I used the ReeHeld app for photos #2 and #4. All photos were hand held.

How do you drag the shutter (or get that effect) in live view? I think I prefer photo #3.

1. When you are reviewing the live view photo you just took, there will be a drop down line on the upper left that has the live view symbol followed by LIVE V.
2. Click on the down arrow. Choose Long Exposure. The photo will change to a long exposure photo. You can also choose Loop or Bounce if you want.

This should work on your iPhone 14 Pro Max.

I took these photos this morning at Freeman’s Mill Park in Georgia. I used my recently purchased iPhone 15 ProMax after trading in an iPhone 12 Mini.

I used the Even Longer App for all photos except for photo #3. That was taken with the phone’s live view mode(long exposure).

My wife are planning on a fall trip to the Finger Lakes and Adirondack. We are planning around first couple of weeks of October.
We are thinking of Watkins Glen, Letchworth St park. Suggestions on other must stops and maybe some helpful suggestions on lodging. We are not campers, being in our mid 70s. thanks

I will add Robert H. Treman State Park, 105 Enfield Falls Rd., Ithaca, NY. I did a trip to this area a few years ago. This park was well worth a visit.

I love when it snows in Prescott. It can be a pain to hike into the park because they are closed when it snows, but the bonus is having the park to yourself for a few hours.
The first shot was from this past Thursday morning before sunrise at the side entrance to Goldwater Lake. The next seven shots are from Sunday at Upper Goldwater Lake, and the last two are from Willow lake last year.

Very well done!….interesting and varied set….I can almost feel the chill of the weather.
