Welcome to a rewarding field. You’ve taken your first step in what should become many. Self-critiquing is great but do some research to learn the basics of composure, exposure and focus (selective). I assume you are working in color. Take a look into black & white, too.

Monitor calibrators are very affordable.

Lastly, do some research into affordable printers. In the long run you will save money and get better prints.

It’s a great barn. Wish you could have gotten past the trees.

You have a great start to what might become a great photo. Exposure is fine and colors are good.

I would start by changing the orientation to a vertical format. If your main subject is the church - which I assume it is - then cropping excess black at the bottom will help accentuate the structure. Use the rule of thirds to place the church and grab as much sky (and color) as you can. Look at the tree silhouettes to check for patterns of interest and present as you see fit.

Again, the subject is the church - the sunset colors and tree silhouettes provide character for the photo. You have done the hard part by capturing a well focused and exposed photo of an interesting scene. To me, the church, trees and sky, stacked as they are, demand a vertical presentation.

I have the same issue on my X-T2! I haven’t found an answer and I hope somebody can come up with one.

I started taking photographs in the 60’s using a Pentax SLR and progressed thru differing 35mm camera formats to the present. I now use a Fuji X-T2. My take is as follows:

OVF vs EVF
Let’s see...
Photo composer or composition - same
Photo exposure - OVF no, EVF yes
Depth of field - OVF yes, EVF yes
Color balance or saturation - OVF no, EVF yes
White balance - OVF no, EVF yes

All of the above data is available on an EVF before the photo is taken allowing the user to make adjustments before taking a photo. Is that important? It is to me, perhaps not to others....

I am finding the Amazon ratings more and more are a factor of cost instead of quality/functionality. If an item is cheap it gets better reviews than a more costly one. Although cost is a concern, I am first interested in functionality. After I find the item that does what I want it to, then I start shopping for price. The average reviews don't always support this and sometimes not at all. You need to read them carefully.

It's not just sand you have to worry about. Depending on wind and surf conditions you may also get a salt residue buildup on any exposed surface. This residue will act like a trap for the sand and cause it to adhere a little more tightly.

Clean as noted in responses above. Don't spare the spray. It is imperative to get the salt off - without flooding your camera.

First, there may be several color modes selectable in your TV set up. Start by testing those. Print a photo and visually compare it to what you are seeing on the TV. Is it acceptable to you?

Second, there are a few color calibrators available for TV's. Google "calibrate tv color" and find your options.

The real question is what kind of TV are you using and what color tint controls does it offer?

There are some focus issues with this camera. You will need to set the camera up properly for your type of use. They are not insurmountable but can be irritating. Google A6000 focus for more information.

I switched from a Canon Rebel 5 to a Fuji X-T2 about a year ago and couldn't be happier.

Lens selection is limited; most second party manufacturers have no offerings, but the Fuji lenses, while expensive, are very good to excellent. I shoot primarily in aperture priority mode and use the live view and depth of field preview continuously. The live view allows me to use the exposure override controls to get the image I want. The depth of field preview permits me to vary the aperture to achieve what I want.

Battery life is not good, but I added a battery pack and it is no longer an issue. Although the battery pack makes this a rather large and heavy camera, I do not find it objectionable. I didn't purchase the camera based on these issues. Although I am nearing 70, I am neither weak or feeble.....yet.

Hope this helps you.

It's not that alone. It's also, your opinion is different than mine, therefor it must be wrong. And then they go on to criticize you about it.

Like the "gentleman" who criticized a writer about his spelling of "lens". Or, the "gentleman" who criticized my opinion regarding some petroglyphs in Utah.

It's not just about intolerance, it's about criticism, which, if not asked for, is seldom desired or appreciated.

It doesn't sound like a tough walk, but you start with a 1000' decline into the canyon and then hike about 3 miles on the sand bottom. The sand bottom really tired us out so that by the time we got back to the 1000' climb out, it was a real grunt. But well worth the effort.

There are 3 additional sites in route to the panel. They were all extremely disappointing. Poorly defined and one was obviously repainted.

There is another very interesting site northeast of Moab - and about 2 miles north of I-70, near an old coal mining ghost town. It had 2 layers of petroglyphs, about 600 and 1200-2000 years old and some graffiti from the 1880's. Now even the graffiti is historic!

What a wonderful area!

Great shots! We have traveled the southwest extensively, visiting and photographing petroglyphs, but I have never seen images of this nature. The closest may have been at "The Great Panel" near Hanksville, UT. They must have been thrilling to see.

My first reaction is that I like it - very much. My second and third reactions are that I still like it very much, but for differing reasons.

Great color saturation, bold image, good composure. The banding is not a distraction to me, more like a change in presentation medium from photo to poster.

Great work!!!
