I have been to Longwood Gardens, Denver Botanic Gardens, Butchart Gardens, and Idaho Botanical Garden and I enjoyed Central Maine as much as any of them. It was much better than I was expecting it to be, a pleasant surprise.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this botanical garden near the Maine Coast
Some photos from a recent trip to Boothbay Harbor Maine
A fair number of snow geese yesterday
I saw this last week and it made me think!
If you take the road behind Glenora Winery it will take you down to the lake and there is a beautiful waterfall there, Glenora Falls.
I was passed by a Corvette that had the plate PHAQ. I also remember reading in a magazine about a guy who requested a vanity plate and on the form for 1st choice he put BOATING, 2nd choice SAILING, and under 3rd choice he wrote “no plate”. He got a plate that said NOPLATE. He started piling up tickets because every time they entered a ticket in the system with no plate it matched to him.
I had a D7100 and went to a Z50 and love it. It is very light and small, especially with the 16-50 lens. If you get one be sure to get both the kit lenses, they are light and very sharp. I got the FTZ adapter to use with my Tamron 18-400 and Nikon 10-20 F lenses but find the kit lenses so good they are about all I use.
I am another Idaho guy with a Z50 and the 2 kit lenses I bought a few months ago. My last camera was a D7100 that I bought when it first came out. So far I am finding the Z50 so much easier to use and carry, and the photos are so sharp. I am not missing the D7100 at all. I also got the FTZ adapter to use with a 10-20 Nikon AF-P and 18-400 Tamron lenses I own. I may get the 18-140 Z lens when it comes out if it as sharp as the kit lenses. I gave my D7100 to my son and now get to spend time with him taking photos and teaching him about photography. I also have an SB-400 flash which works well on the Z50 and carry an old Lowepro Photo Runner bag which holds the Z50, both kit lenses, flash, charger, and miscellaneous bits quite well.

Where did you see that you can't have a lens on your camera when updating the firmware? Here are Nikon's instructions to update the firmware and it does not say anything about removing the lens from the camera in order to do the update. It does say "do not attach or remove lenses during the update". The link is from the Nikon Download Center, and there is a pdf file as well.

YouTube video by Steve Perry on updating firmware. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEWQ4GCbWuI
Hope that helps you.

I just updated my D7100 last week and with the Distortion Control Data the instructions say “ Caution:
Remove the lens before performing this update.”

I know the exact spot. Wonderful picture! I hope to be in the Tetons in mid-July.
Hopefully the road up Signal Mountain will be open. I remember reading they closed it last year because someone was feeding bears up there and they became aggressive.
i love the Tetons, especially this view from the top of Signal Mountain
Bingham Falls is just outside of Stowe but it is a steep walk to get down to it.
