Its been a long long time.
Piper is 2 years old now and so cherished.
I have been through hell.
Covid twice, pneumonia, and several lung infections.

I tried to do some macro shots 2 months ago and had a seizure.
I fell on the camera destroying it, fracturing my elbow and 2 ribs.
Now I have developed diverticulitis.

Apparently my families gene pool was shallow enough for a fly to walk across it without getting its wings wet.

None the less I am going to try photography again. New camera, old me.

we shall have to see what happens.

Piper and I both enjoy sleeping in the recliner, I make a good mattress and she a warm blanket.

wow, thanks mate, and to all here :)

But it is hit and miss with me lol, sometimes I get lucky.
Yesterday was dismal, 328 shots and 2 keepers lol, cold and windy.
Today also colder and more windy
will I be there ??
You can bet on it :)

Really nice close-ups....great lens.

Well, I've always been very happy with the 300 mm F4 Pentax prime. It's always been a great sharp lens, although the focusing in that thing is slow as a tortoise, but in most cases you get a pretty obvious degradation when you throw a teleconverter on there, but not this one. This teleconverter seems to be a sharp as a lens. I'm real happy with this combination. It hunts a little more than it would normally, but especially in low light and anything less than a summer day is considered low light for this particular rig lol but it works. I'm happy with it and it was so much cheaper than buying other brands, which is one of the reasons I chose Pentax 🙂

A selection however random of the last of the years efforts, and some from the new year
either in this or a future post. It's been hit and miss for sure with the weather, and I never reset my camera's date lol.

Hope you enjoy :)

PS, almost all of these were shot with the 1.4 teleconverter on the 300mm F4.

No it was not, many homes here destroyed from flooding, some from wind.
We couldn't get out for 5 days for the water so I took a lot of pics of the neighborhood with the phone lol

Nice photos & some nice variety. Up north here in NJ, it is a rare day when the waders let you get even quadrupole (probably can multiply that by 2) the distance you show in the GBH photo.

The birds here at the Rookery are quite used to us, sometimes within feet, and sometimes you feel the need to duck when they are overhead. It makes it easy for guys like me :)

Thanks sx2002 and Kpmac. Was a challenge having to relearn things. The KP makes it easier with
its more advanced focus and lighter weight, but I still want a K-3 again :)

It's been a long time since I posted, pretty much have not been shooting.
Surgeries, recovery, cleanup after the hurricane all took up my time lol.
Here are the remaining images from last weekend and the weekend before.
Hope you enjoy.

yup, Like the entire town and beyond, the Rookery took a beating. Lots of trees down, many of the new plantings destroyed, But all in all not to bad.
Very few birds right now, likely not cold enough up north, but this is far less than this time of year.
Today I saw 3 Herons, 2 Cormorant, 2 Anhinga, a Green Heron, and a few Moore Hens.
And assortment of little birds scattered about. We will have to see in a few weeks how things go.
Hope you enjoy.

Well I have no doubt about the technological advantages of having grown to the moon which basically was a complete. Hope it a prayer the first time around landing there on what was the equivalent of a calculator. But yes, there are many other things. I just picked that at random that we have done a lot of spending of money on. Like why do dogs bark? What makes us skunk smell bad? I mean really should not money be better used for other things. I find most of these awards for research to be questionable, but rather than get into a tit for tat and a debate, simply trying to find a more useful example that popped out of my mouth. It was however early in the morning I think. Lol it is hard to tell 🙂 at any rate, yes we should always treat every moment. As a last moment I've been dead twice. I think I have a good grip on that so but I still think they should come around to actually fixing all the damage. Some breeders have done to these breeds and giving these animals a better quality of life for longer period of time. That was surely be a worthwhile venture,
And of course, while we're at it, let's kill cancer of all kinds diabetes, Parkinson's disease which I suffer with and so many, many others
