Please try to stay on topic or start your own thread. Thanks.

? He was asking one camera for the rest of your life, and I said the Fuji X-T2, this is off the topic?

You are correct. I don't know what my dream camera is. I have not found it yet. It would have the features of my Nikon F2 and Canon EF in digital format and updated for the 21st century. I may need to start my own post to see what others recommend. I think I am leaning toward a D700 or D810. I have to try them out.

Try the Fuji X-T2

Totally Fuji X-T2, beautiful colors, great lenses, over the top ergonomics, and light.

They asked for help, I gave them a very direct answer on how to solve their problem. And your problem is?

The problem is called common courtesy, just making a suggestion without calling names.

I believe there is a high level of liklihood that they will honor the terms of that offer. They have done similar things before - which is one of the reasons why UHH members hold B&H in such high esteem. Sendai5355, are you aware that UHH has a special contact at B&H? It does, UHH member "Hershel" is a senior member of the B&H staff whom you can contact via a UHH PM (private message) if normal Customer Service efforts don't succeed. /Ralph

Thanks for the tip!

Have both and I find that the 6300 is noticeably but not tremendously better in IQ.

Kit lens on all of them is impossible, imho. Have both the a6000 and a6300 and they don't even start without at least the 50 1.8 lens, 16-70 is lovely and even the 18-105, but these cameras beg for good glass.

My wife and I have also been using Op/Tech straps for years, even when I had a 5D Mk II and 24-105 attached and no problems at all.

Thanks for the links to the threads, really what I was looking for!
Full disclosure - I have a Sony a6300 and a Fuji X-T2, and the Fuji 14 and 23. But I also have a six day a week job, and keep the Sabbath, so no time to really check out these lenses in the field before our vacation. Just want to take the Fuji with a wide(ish) lens and an old light Sony with a light telephoto for compression, and wanted to see if there is a simple answer between the 14 and 23. But I see that there is no simple answer, so I guess that I should try to take advantage of the late sunsets and do some limited shooting after work, but thanks so much for sending over all the links, really clarified the issues!

Actually slrgear was helpful, the test photo eliminated the 16-55, thanks.

Actually I would like a comparison, as I would like to get advice about which one lens to take.

Just need a few people with two of the lenses.

Since DXO doesn't do Fuji, I am asking for advice. If focal length, DOF, and weather sealing are not crucial to me, which of the following Fuji lenses would have the best IQ for landscapes, the 14mm 2.8 , the 23mm 1.4 or the the 16-55mm zoom? Thanks

Just doing some research on DXOMark, your T1i with the Tamron lens can get a maximum effective resolution (i.e. that you can see, not what the sensor records) of 5 megapixels, a Sony A5000 with a Sony 18-105 lens get twice as much, 10 megapixels. Plus full excellent HD video at 24 fps, not 20 fps like the Canon. In general, if you check over there, even the older Sony's the A6000, A6300 that you can get for good prices have much improved scores across the board that the T1i. Their auto-focus and tracking is very good, also. Will you see the difference? We did with our A6000 and the 18-105 lens over the T6i. Might be something to think about.

Don't forget a 50 prime on a D5500 is like a 75 on a full frame and might be hard indoors in tighter spaces, so a fast 35 prime would probably be more practical as it is more like a "normal" lens on a crop sensor like the D5500. Also, not sure what the point of a slow shutter speed is with kids who are usually moving? Probably meant fast(ish) shutter speed with high ISO. Also, found that the weight of a DSLR was a little discouraging, a Sony a6000 with the kit lens would be the right weight, but I found the kit lens very not worth it, and the 18-105 lens I find very versatile, good image quality and focusing, but it is a bit heavy. The Fuji X-T10 with the 18-55 is amazing (as long as you don't have big hands), but not cheap. Just things to think about.
