Oops. Yea I meant 8x10. I dunno what I was thinking when I wrote that. When I printed an 8x10 it cropped the sides off.

Ok that works. What do you think about the color and brightness? Does it look a little dull to you?

I'm not a big fan of printing photos at home. I feel that ink is just too expensive. lol I just took my file into the drugstore and printed it to see what the results would look like. And not sure where to go from there. Thank you for your feedback. Will mess around with it some more.

I know the basics about photo editing sw so I feel silly asking this question. Seems I should know the answer or at least be able to figure it out. So, here it goes. Had family portraits taken. Photos are digital. I have paid for the rights to print them out as I see fit. In a couple of the photos we fill the frame from side to side. I can't crop w/o cutting part of a person out. Is there a way to alter the aspect ratio to print an 8.5 x 11 photo w/o cutting someone out?

I don't remember either, kinda freaky, maybe we were all abducted?[/quote]

I just discovered it a few days ago and for the life of me, I can't remember how. Maybe there is some brainwashing going on as well!

Thank you Ian. I was thinking the 2nd one has too much of a blue tone.
Not sure how this reply stuff works yet. Sorry if I get it wrong. I will figure it out sooner or later.

I love taking photos but don't know much about the technical aspects of photography. I feel I've taken some pretty good photos in spite of my lack of knowledge. Maybe it's just dumb luck. lol I've been poking around here and plan on checking a few books out from my local library as well as studying my camera manual more closely. I am excited to learn new things.

My camera is a Sony DSC-HX1. It's not an SLR but I don't feel I'm ready for one yet. I like my Sony though.

My favorite subjects are my daughters and their friends, who love to be my models, as well as plants and flowers. I like to show texture and differences between light and shadow in my photos. Any feedback is very welcome!
