I was wondering, is there any chance that you could post your sharpest image at the highest res. I'd like to see it without the break down of the lower res posting if that is possible on this site. I use all prime lenses, so if this is as sharp as your saying I'd like to see what this lens delivers. I can't see what I am looking for by looking at these images.
Was this shot on a tripod?
If your willing to do a test with a stationary object it would help me consider checking out this lens.
Thank you for sharing your post.
I personally have no issue with any manufacter as long as the lens is SHARP.
Not sorta sharp...very sharp.
And getting in closer doesn't mean it's sharp......we can get the range which these lenses are going for but how sharp as the end product.

Love to see where this goes.

And if anyone has the Sigma long zoom I'd like to see images from that.
What I have seen thus far hasn't impressed me.

Thanks for the post and sharing your lens and your pictures with us.

What can you tell me about the 50mm lense and if you still have this....also the 100mm macro....70-200mm
Do you have any of these left?
How much are you asking for them and if you sold them would you mind sharing how much you got for them...
Thanks,
Joanne

Do you still have the 50 1.4 lense...and what could you tell me about this lense....used how old and the care of this.
Then the 17-40mm what can you share about this one also...tho I am ideally looking for the 16-35mm 2.8 but would consider this if the price was right.

thanks,
Thruhiseyes

Does anyone have UFO shots ? If so, post them.

The History Channel is your friend - well, that and Google Images, of course. I once Googled UFO's for images and look what came up in the results below. Must be why there's no birth certificate.

Well...I just did a wedding where the bride had hired not ONE, but TWO videographers, each having HUGE BRIGHT LCD lights attached to their cameras...it was so difficult to get a shot where they were not in it or when their lights were not shining directly into my camera... At the actual ceremony, the church only allowed photographers to shoot from the balcony...and there they were with THREE tripods set up in VERY strategic spots which made it so very difficult to take good photos...I almost knocked one of their tripods over trying to get around it, climbing over pews to do so since the tripod legs blocked every aisle. BUT, with that being said, I got some really great photos and there were times when their lights actually helped at the reception....other times when they totally washed out my photos. But I DO love what I do, the bride, groom and families were soooo nice and fun and so if you really love what you do, get over this one and enjoy what you love...each day is a new one!

BTW, all the suggestions here are good ones. The only thing is that my contract also states that I am the ONLY photographer and that the bride &groom agree to that, so WHY would you need an addendum stating that if there is another photographer your price goes up? It already states that there is to be no other photographer. Period. I deal with the paparazzi at every wedding and I also make sure to turn around and get a photo of THEM at some point. It is a rather humorous photo...I even add text on that particular photo that says "paparazzi". They love it...perhaps you should have taken a photo of the other gal in the bushes. Perhaps even added it to the book...ha!
Well...I just did a wedding where the bride had hi... (show quote)

This is funny and a great idea!

As professionals I think it is imparative to be kind....in handling this. And I think you understand that name calling isn't in the line of being professional...

When I use to shoot weddings I shot pretty fast.... so for someone to keep up would have been a challenge.

Just politely request you got your shot then quickly direct them to another pose and move into the space to repose them which will cause the other person to have to shoot more from the side...I had a way of "grin, getting into other's shots"......funny how that seemed to work for me..there is a bit of a art to it....but as you get quicker on the poses and directing the B&G, any other person would have a tough time to follow you....so learn to move through it quicker...and don't hesitate to step onto the line of another camera...LIKE I SAID....it will cause them the move more to one side or the other...) The more control you have over the situation the less anyone will distract you for bother you...and the better you are at shooting...you set yourself in a different league all together....the sharper, quicker, more professional...and more weddings under your belt...I trained photographers to shoot weddings...

....I also would say....Ok..anyone with cameras this is your time...I would have them shoot the cake without my posing it...then I would pose grab my shot and step into the line of vision repose step back and reshoot... and walk out of the scene...EASY...just learn the movements....

As your become more articulate from experience you will train your Bride and Groom what it is that you want and what is expected and share with them when you book the weddings what problems it causes from blinks of other flashes going off or people looking away to another camera..."educate them" (BEFORE THE WEDDING NOT THE DAY OF)....and they will be your biggest cheerleaders on the day of the wedding because they want PERFECT...so train them well and you will have their support......hope that helps...go for it!

I made a point that no one is to shoot while I am shooting and I "firm but nice" waited for their camera to go down and told them the reason is that I don't want the "blinks" or them looking elsewhere. Most conformed....I have also said, I won't be taking any more pictures until this is resolved and it might force someone to tell that other person "when the pressure is on" to back off....
In otherwords, it isn't bad to put it back on them to make the call...if your contract said, "if you have others shooting the wedding you were hired to shoot, you have the right to pack up and leave" and the shooting stops here...
Try and get this more on their shoulders not yours....

We live in a world of all those point and shooters who claim to be photographers...and far from it...so let them have the garbage if that is what they want...

AND I would NEVER say...you can have someone elses pictures in albums you created.....you need to follow through and put some boundries in place or your going to be ran over....

I shot 100's of weddings....and if they went far enough to have someone like you did...that is where I would walk...but only that wedding so get it in writing and cover yourself....

Best of luck
