I have had a Leica Q since March and love it. The Leica SF-20 flash I have for my Leica M doesn't really work so well with the Q, so I am going to get what fits it best. It appears that the choices are the SF-26 and SF-40. What should I do? I know, the answer depends on what my flash use will be. So my answer to that is, mainly fill-flash, but occasional photos in darkened places.

Perhaps I should have posted this under the Leica Q section, but didn't know how.

Thanks.

In Colorado Springs, Cameraworks is great. Ross Waldo is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and patient.

In Mississippi, go to Deville Camera in Jackson. Owned and operated by Randy Noone since about 1969 or '70, you can get whatever you need here. We are very lucky to have them.

I have used Zeiss 10 x 32 for 12 or so years to watch football games and for hunting. Perfect, but pricey.

I would say that I am a fellow traveler. At age 12 in 1954, my Uncle Will gave me an old Rolicord or Roliflex (sp?) 120 camera and taught me to take pictures, then to develop and print them (B&W) in his darkroom. I remained interested in photography and took my own pictures while investigating case scenes, which were usually at railroad crossings. In 2002, while digital was still bumping along, I bit the bullet and bought a 35mm Leica M6, returning to the manual days of film, with four different lenses. Well, guess what! Digital took off six months later, and I ended up shelving the Leica and going digital. But it continually grieved me to have such a fine piece of equipment sitting on the shelf, so recently I decided that I was going to use the Leica for something, convenient or not, and this has turned out to be B&W of scenes and people at my hunting camp. Usually I have to listen to griping by the younger people that I am "taking too long" to focus and set the aperture. What I like is that it slows things down and I think about the light management and composition more.

So, yes, I am a fellow traveler.
