thank you. i think it would be a good idea to post a few photos and compare screen shot/phone/email version vs. sd card to computer. got a few different answers here. and yes of course the camera and settings totally count as well.
thank you! i shoot in raw/jpeg mode so that is covered. but eventually when i do go raw i will go lightroom.
hi guys
i use two sonys a7r2 and the little rx100.
my question is this: i would like to get more depth and better resolution on my photos.
i shoot the photos, transfer them to my phone, edit with my iPhone, screen shot it then post or send as an email to friends and family.
i know shooting in raw and doing some real post processing will help. i'm way overdue. i'm starting on this in the fall.
so i was also asking about my transfer. these are basic question, i know.
so how will i retain more data/pixels with my photos? plug in my card into my computer then lightroom? what about screen shotting them, emailing them to myself, then light rooming? do you lose data when you email them? how can i retain the most data from my photos when i transfer?
thank you SO much, i do appreciate your advice.
i like this lens a lot as well. i was skeptical at first but ive been impressed with some of the images. it is heavy. but it's a great all purpose travel lens for sure.
mike, very helpful. thank you.
also the sony macro lens you mentioned is a beauty. learning to use it and really impressed with the quality of the photos from that lens. mistakes and all.
thank you so much. i've printed out your suggestions and will try them. best to you.
thank you. appreciate your reply. and reading the manual as well to sort this out. take care, nancy
hi hoggies
anybody have thoughts on best focusing with the sony a7r2? i'm an amateur+ and the focusing piece seems overwhelming with this camera. just leave on auto focus? what focus areas? the pac man dialing for specific manual focus seems a bit tedious. any advice as a to where to start and build from there? thank you and please be kind!
hi hogs
wondered if you could give me some guidance on an upcoming photo opportunity. it seems our community has replaced the easter egg hunt with the marshmallow drop. thousands of marshmallows will be dropped from the sky from a helicopter on easter sunday morning for the kiddies.
i'm sure there will be comments from the peanut gallery here on that situation...i'm a little conflicted myself ...
BUT what i'm really hoping for is some opinions and guidance on how to shoot this. just looking to capture the moment with the crowds and the kids and the magic and the moment. i was thinking wide angle/ fast shutter speed?

i'm an aspiring amateur so be gentle! thank you
there's a new bio out on avedon. it was a great romp. full of stories, gossip, history, photography. loved it.
i have a big girl camera but I've been really happy popping my sony rx100v in my purse lately. the lens is super sharp, it has a nice little zoom and the images have been more than solid. i look forward to keeping this little guy with my when i go out.
