Hi, for the Body only I was asking $750 shipped (to US addresses only). I would list for more since it has less then 27K actuations on it, but because of the SMALL crack in the top LCD screen I had to list it for less. Still functions as normal and everything works fine. If interested in the lens to go with it, I am sure I can give you a great deal on this set up.

I'm getting a bunch of inquires and it's cross-posted so please let me know if you are interested. Send me a private message if interested and we can work on details, etc.

**10/24 UPDATE....sale fell through so I’m offering this up at $700. Amazing deal being offered today only**

$750 Shipped to you - USA address only

Excellent condition Nikon D800 camera. VERY small crack on the top LCD screen but does not impact performance of the camera at all. You can see that this literally JUST happened as I was moving things around. It was in my Manfrotto camera bag and I must have hit the corner of my island at the worst possible spot. Again, does not impact performance. I am sure this can be fixed by Nikon or an authorized Nikon Dealer. This is why I have the price set pretty low for the body.

1. Nikon D800 Body (26,230 clicks)
2. 2 16GB CF Cards
3. Neewer battery grip, with battery trays
4. Really Right Stuff Base Plate

Comes with the original box for the D800 (matching serial numbers), and the chargers/caps and everything you need. I am just not finding the time to use this amazing FX camera and want it to go to a good home. The lens in the pictures is not part of this sale, but would be willing to take offers if you are interested. Shipping via USPS Priority to USA addresses only.

Thanks Snappy! Yes, definitely would have been beneficial to have the tripod and use my remote shutter release, but lugging it around for this trip was not an option. Definitely want to get back down to Nashville, but this time with a tripod because there are so many things there begging to snap some photos.

I was recently in Nashville and we spent some time out at the Gaylord Opryland Resort, which is definitely a MUST DO if you are in the Nashville area. Anyway, thought I would try to take some cool water shots since there are tons of waterfalls inside. I didn't have a tripod so it made it tough to handhold the shot and get the results I was seeking, but I guess they are OK. Any feedback on how to take better shots of moving water? I'll try to put the file info under each picture if that helps. These were taken with my Nikon D700 with a Nikon 24-85mm G lens.

2/5 sec, f/8, 62mm, ISO 200

2/5 sec, f/11, 24mm, ISO 200

$350

Looking to sell my Nikon 70-300 lens, which is in pristine condition. I bought this for my D700 and I used this a few times for taking pictures of my daughter's horseback riding lessons a few months back and haven't used it since. I have my 24-85mm lens on there, which is much better for me in my shooting preferences. I don't really need the stretch as much as I thought I would so I wanted to give this to a new home.

This comes with the original box and everything that came along with it. I also put a Bower Pro dHD UV filter that comes with it. Please feel free to send messages or reply to the ad if you have any questions.

there prices selling are ok for bare bones, but mines clean and loaded...and i really cant understand why no buddy hasnt bought it...18,000 clicks..???????????????..

I'm with ya man! It's a fantastic camera, but with it being older tech could be keeping people away. The battery grip and lens being included, this is more than a fair price that you are asking. I decided to move to FX this year and sold my D300. If I didn't move to FX, I would have purchased yours as a second body to have. There's definitely a buyer out there for you...sometimes it just takes patience. Have you tried selling locally on craigslist and LetGo? You can always post it on eBay to get the word out there as well and see if you get any bites. Prices are all over the place out there, but I would say a $375 - $399 range with a "Best Offer" option, it might draw some attention.

I have had great success with MPB. I think their prices are fair and it's super quick getting paid. Ebay isn't always a guaranteed sale, so at least you know you're gonna be able to unload it. Not sure what they will offer you since it's an older camera, but worth the time and effort if you want to just sell it. I'm actually thinking of listing a Nikon 70-300mm lens up here soon but might just see what MPB will end up giving me for it first.

GREAT camera! I have the D700, which is basically the FX version of the D300. Have you tried to sell it through mpb.com? Before you post it to flea-bay you might want to see how much they would give you for everything. After all the fees and shipping it might be worth it. GLWS

Does your laptop (I assume this is a laptop you're talking about.) have an internal CD/DVD drive? Can you boot from a Windows DVD (burned from ISO) from a DVD?

I've done that multiple times to do a clean install of Windows, a couple of times on a blank hard drive. I have even booted from an external DVD drive to do this.

You cannot do a clean install of Windows from within Windows, so you need to figure out how to boot from something external.

Yes, this is for an HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1010us laptop. I was able to find the drive and partition it correctly and then start the cloning process. That took about 7 hours to complete and I was able to pop the SSD in and it booted right up. Booted much faster than HDD I had in there. I opened a few apps as well like Lightroom, Word, Excel, etc. and they all came up super fast! I then put the HDD into the drive enclosure and made sure that it was recognized and I had all of my files that I wanted. I found this neat little code snippet to run in Windows Powershell that would list all of my installed applications so I didn't have to painfully write them all down. There's definitely a bunch of crap on there that I will be glad to get rid of. It's now in the process of downloading a fresh install of Windows 10 and wiping everything away.

Lots of lessons learned here with this and if I had to do it all over again, I would probably just buy a new computer :) BUT, it is one of those things that doing it on your own gives you a sense of accomplishment. I guess it's like installing wood floors on your own or hiring someone to do it. I did find out that when I used my external drive to make a .ISO file, it wiped everything else off the drive. I think once it is complete, I will be happy with it. Yes, the processor and graphics card are probably outdated, but for the original purpose of what I am looking for, I think the upgrade made completely good sense. I was able to find some amazing deals on the RAM and SSD, which made it worth it as well.

RAM - $55
SSD - $112
Drive Enclosure - $31.79
TOTAL - $198.79

Perfect! I stayed under 200 bucks and will probably just use the 500GB HDD within the enclosure as backup storage or just set it somewhere and forget about it since I have another Toshiba 750GB that I use as a backup drive.

Anyway, just wanted to close the loop on the process from the original thread. Thanks to all who contributed words of wisdom with this little project of mine. Now that the laptop has been upgraded, I can get back to taking pictures

Good question.....got the drive enclosure but when I plug it into the USB port, nothing is showing up.

Had to partition the disk first. OK, so now I am using Macrium software to clone the new SSD. Since I have all of my data on the hard drive, I will get the SSD installed and then run a fresh install of Win10 on it and then move the data. Seems like it's an extra step, but I can't think of any other way to get this thing up and running.

Question: even though you changed the boot order, are you sure the computer is actually trying to boot the Windows installation from the USB ISO, or its it seeing the SSD, finding no OS and giving you the error?

Update #1...

Got the RAM and installed that pretty easily. Powered up the laptop and it's now showing 16MB RAM. Next was making a copy of the .ISO file and putting it on my external USB drive. I changed the BIOS settings to read from the external drive first and then I replaced the HDD and with the SSD and booted up. I got the error that it's a non bootable drive. Swapped back to the HDD, removed the external drive, and got back into the machine. HMM??

Next stop is to go to Best Buy and get a drive enclosure to potentially clone the SSD with Marcrium Reflect and try again.
