How in god’s name did you fracture the strongest bone in the body?

That’s what I had planned to do, but I didn’t have a chance. This person was so pushy, messaged me at 2am & wanted to close the deal. I told her I needed to look at the numbers when I was actually awake, but then in the morning she was wanting it shipped ASAP, next day.

Thanks everyone. I didn’t know what size box it would take as I was shipping three items in their original boxes and also had a large camera bag. The kid at Box & Go quoted me a price for next day shipping when I told him the weight of everything & that the buyer wanted next day shipping & it all needed to be insured. When I got to Box & Go after having the buyer submit payment plus shipping to my PayPal, it was almost $400 MORE than he quoted on the phone because he said he didn’t know the size & how many items I had & hadn’t included charges for bubble wrap & the double boxing he said it would need in order to insure. Luckily I was able to contact the buyer & they agreed to delivery by Thursday, which brought the price back down, but only after saying to just toss the original boxes the items came in or to just bubble wrap everything in one piece... Aye.

How do you calculate shipping & insurance to know what to add to price? I have a camera, 2 lenses & a camera bag to ship in their original boxes, valued at ~$5000.

Thank you-I appreciate you taking the time to comment! I haven’t posted in a while. I have some portraits to post-process, but didn’t get to do everything I wanted this sumer. My daughters just turned 15; got their driver’s permits today. Life is changing...

I’m not quite an old geezer (what’s the female term for geezer??), & I wouldn’t show up to shoot an event like that. I took candids & informal shots for my best friend’s baby brother’s wedding because she couldn’t be there, & I was dressed nicer than the actual photographer & most of the guests. My daughters are 15 & were just asked to take Polaroids at the guest book as people arrive so that the bride & groom can have a signed pic of every guest, & already my girls are asking the colors of the wedding & planning their clothes. I’ve raised them to take pride in their appearance no matter what the event, & ‘clean & neat’ is not optional. It’s always better to be a little overdressed than under, for an event, & I would think the photographer would want to repress themselves favorably. That said, I do not wear nice, light colored capris & sandals for pet photography; I’m more concerned with making sure my butt & back are covered when bending or throwing myself on the ground. :-p
