I also have watched quite a few photography videos over the years and I cannot recall seeing anybody shooting with sunshade in storage mode!

I was lucky to capture this momma black bear nursing her three cubs in Yellowstone National Park.

Very nice. How close were you and with what lens?

I was less than 20 yards, most likely closer to 10 yards. It was taken a few years back and I think I shot that with my Olympus 70-300 lens.

The last one I posted I shot with my newer 90-250 lens.

I just recently got me a new 300/2.8 and plan to go to Yellowstone next week and try it out on some wildlife that allows one to get reasonably close. Most the photos I shoot are of "real" wildlife that make you work to get close.

Have a good one. BB

nice job, and good luck in Yellowstone. Look forward to seeing some of your shots. Thinking about coming out that way in September. Beautiful country!

What I love about them is that no one would have guessed there was traffic within 25 miles of the scene, let alone that you were shooting across 4 lanes of traffic. Can I ask what lens you were shooting?

Thanks joehel2. I was using a Nikon d7000 and a Sigma 150-500 mm lens. 1/1000 sec,f8.

These shots of Ospreys fishing were taken on the James River, in Newport News, VA

These Egrets were a few of hundreds in the area at the time.
Had to fight automobile traffic to get these shots.
I shot them from across a 4 lane hiway.

Fabulous...what focusing mode do you use? I found a pair of nesting eagles but can only get to within 500 to 600 yards.

I use auto focusing. The D7000 will lock on focus and follow the subject as long as you keep it in the frame. I think it would be too difficult to manual focus. Time being the problem.

How much did you have to pay the stunt osprey?

That's funny RMM! I would paid anything for that kind of show.

Thanks everyone for looking. Hope everyone enjoys. I know I did.

The camera, lens and settings were:
Nikon D7000
Sigma 150- 500 mm
Settings were f8, 1/2000 sec, ISO on auto

gotta love that Sigma...
All shots were hand held at 100 yards

Thanks everyone. I was really excited about capturing all the action. I could hardly wait to get home and put them on computer.
