A Canon guy for many years and on a whim I tried a Sigma Art lens. Five years later I own several Art series lenses from Sigma, and because of those I willing to try the 120-300 f2.8 Sports lens. I was sold on the Sports series so it was easy to pick up the 60-600 for Wildlife, and just yesterday I replaced my Canon 70-200 series I with the new Sigma Sports 70-200. Yet to give it a workout, but plan to this Saturday at the High School wrestling meet. I still have a few Canon lenses left in the bag, but it's easy for me to go Sigma Art one at a time as the situation calls. I am not thrilled about the zoom ring being on the outside but I am sure I will get used to it right away. Feedback to follow.
Has anyone ever used or know anything about Tri State Camera in NYC.? Are they legit ??
Thanks in advance
yes, that is what I was wanting. i do plan to one day play around with this but the best tool I find is feedback from others. Thanks
when I say 1.4x I mean adding a 1.4 extender to the 300m.
300 + 1.4 extender on a full frame vs 300 by itself on a crop sensor camera = ??
Love to hear from those that have compared or use both. Assuming 300m on a crop sensor camera or the same 300m on a full frame camera with a 1.4x . Love to hear about image quality pros and cons and any other feedback. I should add that I do have both but before I actually play around with both set ups, I would like to hear from those that have. Do the pros outway the cons? for example using my 300m on a Canon 7dm2 (crop) vs using it on Canon 5dm4 (full) with 1.4x I realize the 1.4 and the 1.6 crop aren't the same but I'm wondering if anyone noticed quality diff, setting diff, speed diff........
Yes same camera. Thanks for the input
Given the price of Canon replacements can anyone suggest an off brand that you have been happy with. Please respond only if you've tried and had success or fails with replacement for canon lpn6. Thank you.
manual says to have flash set to TTL and that you can control out put by adjusting + or -, but it doesn't say what setting the Transmitter needs to be in to make that adjustment. The Transmitter has three options for each mode. TTL, M or off. I get that off means that flash wont fire and yes that works. I would assume that if I wish to control the flash by full power, half power, 1/4 power, I would need to have transmitter in M mode and flash in TTL mode. Im asking if I need to also have transmitter set to TTL and only be able to adjust by -1.o or + 1.0 kinda like flash compensation. If that is the case then why would the transmitter have the option to be set to M mode if it didn't make any changes ??
A month ago I posted a topic/question asking what my Speedlights need to be set on in order to be able to control the amount of flash from my Phottix Odin transmitter. The answer I got from several of you was to set the flash to TTL. Ok, so I have flash off camera on a stand, flash is set to TTL. Take photo and it is blown out with too much flash. So on the Transmitter (on camera) I go to A and change it to Manual and move flash from 1/1 to 1/4 and take photo. NO change. I move it to 1/8, 1/64 and so on and yet NO change (too bright). what am I doing wrong ?? how exactly am I supposed to control the amount of flash on the Speedlight ?? thank you.
issue fixed. Firmware update for lens via Sigma docking station. Issue solved. thanks

that looks very much like a zoom lens with a hood attached but shooting at full zoom.
Just by looking at the result.
I am a huge fan of Sigma and use several other lenses from them. Thus far I've tried my 50mm and 85mm as well the 14mm , all Art series and they are fine on the 5DM4. Not a deal breaker for me and it seems there is a fix so... I have others to still try and if I find lenses in my bag that don't work, I will be sure to let you know.
Yes, but the lens is made for full frame and works fine on my other full frame camera (5dm3).
Background... 70d, 7dm2, 5dm3 and now 5dm4. I have several Sigma Art lenses. Sigma 35mm 1.4 art has been used on 70d, 7dm2, and 5dm3 with no issue. Last night using it on the 5dm4 for the first time I snap a photo and get massive Vingnetting. I switch to live view and I see three grey circles (like s target) . I can see through them but.... only one single vingnett shows on the photo. I will add sample photos later when I can. Yes I tried taking off the glare collar, no help. I tried my 50mm and it's fine. Any ideas ???
Thank you all. Now I know.
