I had passed this house many times but I finally decided to stop and take a look. This is a abandoned house on the corner of a field. I decided to take some pictures. This house I thought could be from the 1930's but later I assumed it is later because this area had not been populated then.
From the looks inside it has been used recently and trashed.
What is your guess as to when this house was built and used?
Gosh I can't thank you guys enough for all the good info. First I am going to start to find better subjects, with more contrast. I will look at the monochrome options in my camera and finally verify the close distance and make sure I have the shutter speed up to my minimum.
I have seen some beautiful black and white photos on this site. I have only been able to get grey and white with my Rebel T6i set to monochrome and my 18 to 135 lens. How can I get better black and white images? Should I be taking pictures in color and then converting to B&W? I have both Picasa (that I still use) and Luminar 3 which I don't know very well. Attached is an example. Appreciate any good comments, but flames to dev/null.
Took this from my kitchen window with my Canon Rebel T6i in program mode with the Canon 18 - 135. I cropped and now it seems a bit fuzzy. Also shown is the original.
My grandson has been asked for copies of two of his digital images. These are quite good images from Alaska and from the eclipse and are unique. How can he protect his property from other peoples use?
When I looked at both images I zoomed in almost as far as possible (using Preview) and I find the Canon lens to have much more detail than the Tamron. Is that a valid assessment of these pictures? Maybe I should re-shoot with all the same including the light.
I have taken pictures with two lenses I have. A Tamron 17 to 50 2.8 without image stabilization and a 18 to 50 Canon kit lens with stabilization. I have two pictures of the same fall leaf and find the image from the Canon to have more detail than the one from Tamron. There is a major difference in price in these lenses and I thought the Tamron would produce better results. Both images at AV 4.0.
Does the image stabilization produce the better results. Here are the images. I am not sure why the EXIF data is not with the image.
I want to thank all of you for helping. I think I will now use up to 50% to evaluate and forget the rest. I should spend more time on composition and best focus.
