Thanks for all of the replyes. I want the ability to shoot close up (no stinging insects shots) electricphotography without the expense of buying a macro lens.
I considered a reversing ring but eliminated that thought because non-electronic communication between the lens and camera.
I do not own a prime lens currently.
That is why I am considering the 35mm or 50mm with lens extensions tubes.
When pairing lens extenders with Nikon 35mm or 50mm lens to achieve macro photography without buying a macro lens, does one produce better results over the other?
Dave
Thanks for your reply. I haven't done the blur background yet but like that option.
Since you have both, which one do you use more?
On the kit lens, how do you tell a 35 or 50 setting?
Jon
Using a d3300. Consider purchasing a 35mm or 50mm primary lens.
Which would give me more use/function? Any thoughts or suggestions? No particular subjects at this point.
Thanks for your input.
As far as stability is concerned, does it make a difference if a tripod has legs with 3 sections or 4 sections. I am thinking that a 4 section leg would be more stable
Thanks
when using a L-bracket, is a level clamp needed to attach a camera to the bracket or can a bracket used without a level cramp
Thanks, will keep on researching
Does a tripod leg set need to be matched with the same brand tripod head? Will any brand head connect to any brand leg set?
Thanks.. There certainly much to consider before purchasing
Hi everyone. Greetings from Schenectady!!
I am relatively new to new to photography and to the forum.
I am about to purchase a tripod. Looking for advice on the best tripod head. Considering a ball head or a pan/tilt head either one would be with a quick release
Thank for laying down the WELCOME matt
I read that if using a long lens, longer than 200mm, you should use a tripod collar. I also read that if using a tripod you should use a L-bracket.
Does the collar replace the L-bracket or do you use both at the same time? The collar when using a long lens and the L-bracket for all the other times.
