How about switching the scale in PS Lightroom from pixels to inches?

I also had the same lens on a Nikon D7200 - works great but I do not like the way Nikon controls and functions work. I gave them away to a friend. I wish they would make one with Sony e-mount.

I would like to suggest the Sigma 18-300. It works great on my Canon 70D........ Take a look........ From close-up to wide angle and telephoto.

With the switch on "MAN" there is no reason to hold the pin down.

Very true but I have four lenses with no switch and they remain wide open no matter where the aperture ring is set, f1.2 can be way too much light and no depth of field.

All the m42 to emount adapters hold the pin in so there's no problem as they're then fully stop down mode.

Sorry to inform you that I bought one a while back for M42 to Sony A mount that did not hold the pin in. I thought about gluing the pin in but did not want to ruin the lens for future film use. There are some out there that don't............

So, what was the purpose of that switch?

One possible use - Some M42 cameras do not have a depth of field preview button. This switch will allow DOF preview with lens at shooting aperture. The viewfinder may be quite dark but at least you can see DOF.

I have some M42 screw mount lenses that I would like to adapt to a digital camera and play with but (see photo) there is an aperture activation pin on the lens that must be held in for the aperture adjustment to function also none of them have auto/manual controls on the lens. There are plenty of adapters for M42 to Sony full frame e-mount but none of them mention anything about this aperture pin........

What do I do now?

Where did you "hear" that crap, it's obvious you heard it someplace because you sure haven't done any homework.

Most of the posts are right on.
There are three reasons to stay with DSLR (in my case Canon, but Nikon is fine): 1:Full frame remains better than any smaller sensor if you have frequent need for very large prints. (I'm not aware of a high quality FF mirrorless camera). 2: Nikon & Canon have a significantly larger range of lenses & accessories than is available for mirrorless cameras. 3:Cost - If you have a large array of frequently used equipment, it will be extraordinarily expensive to change to mirrorless.

I think you need to look a little deeper into the mirrorless market. Check the Sony α7R 2, the α7S 2 and some of the Zeiss and Sony lenses for them. I think you will find pretty high quality full frame equipment there with some great operating features. You could also look into the ISO-less capability of the sensors.

Forget Elements 11 and go to Elements 14....... You are missing out on the good updates.

You should rent a Sony α7R II for a month before you give up on mirrorless. The α6000 is only a toy in comparison. I have owned both and gave the α6000 away last week.

I always shoot RAW in full manual mode.

Except when I'm in a hurry.
Oh, and when I need the buffer for fast FPS.
Oh, and when I'm just taking snapshot.
Oh, and when I'm shooting in quickly changing conditions.

OK- well, I sometimes shoot RAW in full manual mode.

Oh YES........ I love this and say just use what works for you at the time.

The correct answer if you use PS.

The 1 inch border will depend on the measurements of the photo. A one inch border could be too small or too large........

Thank you for your help. I now have the black border but when I export the colors are all very dark.

What software are you using?

Without knowing that, I can not comment on the meaning of Export and additional methods.
