I wish I could identify him for you. But their colors are different this time of year.
Even with the bird in my hand and Sibley bird book I still could not tell what kind of warbler the little guy was. Just happy he recovered & was able to join his mate.
I’m a big songbird fan. Have half dozen feeders around the yard. Still feeding hummingbirds too. Making up for my youth (BB gun). FYI I’m originally from the PGH area (Monaca).
I’ve been told they see trees in the reflection & think they are flying towards one. Who knows. We have decals on most of our windows & they have helped immensely. Way less bird strikes.
This little guy was hopping around in our yard with its mate for over an hour while I was trying to get a decent picture of them together. I finally gave up & sat down to watch TV. Several minutes later I heard a noise at the front door & when I opened the door one of the little birds that I was unsuccessful in photographing lay on my front porch. He sat on my finger for sever minutes before flying off to join his mate. My wife took the pictures with her IPAD.
Had the same thing happen to me last week. This warbler crashed into our front door. I picked him up & he perched on my finger for several minutes before flying off to join his mate in a nearby tree.
You got that right. I'm a big bird lover & seldom see this Blue Gray Gnatcatcher around my house. Some birds are quite easy to photograph but the Gnatcatcher was a real challenge.
This little guy drove me crazy trying to get his/her picture. Most were out of focus or the bird was not even in the shot. Fun & games trying to photograph birds.
Hello cameranut. Yes, I do admit the 3rd shot was a it blurry. Caught the gorgeous guy, in midst of action while he was pecking at peanut. Thanks so much to all of you for the nice compliments.
I was anxiously awaiting for an adult Redheaded Woodpecker to land on the far railing of our deck. Much to my surprise a juvenile landed on the much closer railing & I was able to get a very clear shot of him just a few feet away with my Limux FZ200. After he flew minutes the adult landed & got his/her Peanut. Check out the feet on the adult. I can see why they say birds are related to dinosaurs.
