Vicki: This is, as stated above is a, Yellow Jacket. I live in Central Illinois and I've never had so many trying to nest in and around our home. If you spray them they'll simply find another place to build. Remember, there are always those out gathering..not just the ones at the nest. I've read that when winter comes they bore into the ground and next year probably won't be round. I'm 73 and have never seen this many Yellow Jackets nesting. If there's a hole in your siding, in your garage, even in a piece of wood in your garage that's a top to a bench, they'll find it. Fortunately, I have not been stung....knock on wood!
JPGTO: Thanks for sharing...it's good! Glad you found it.
Roder10: The images are sharp and I like the compositions.
Beautifully accomplished, my friend. Spot on ART!
Is this a juvenile, Richie? Or is she just fluffing? Either way, it is a great capture.
Snapshot: Good work with excellent PP.
Good work, Tainkc. The camera seeks sharp!
A great shot...you must have been prepared for his arrival?
Beautiful composition, texture, and color.
You captured her beautifully, my friend.
Special image, my friend.
Sorry this got posted twice.
USNRet: Well, what can I say. These Western State's fires are a disaster. Lighting up the sky through your images really shows off the combined power of nature.
