Stunning! Perhaps the best shot I've ever seen on UHH.
I haven't been out much lately but did enjoy taking this shot while visiting Seattle (summer 2021) to enjoy a Mariners game. This was the view from the balcony of my hotel room. Still learning the focus shift feature of my Nikon D-850.
Shot taken near Western Ave and Yessler Street looking east. Smith Tower in background on right.
Nikon D-600 with 9,110 activations. Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8D Lens. Slightly Used Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 AF Lens. Lens Hoods, Caps, Hardwire Remote, USB Cable. Two Battery's w/Charger, D-600 user manual. Camera has minor scratches on top plastic (see image). Lens glass is clean with no scratches.
Camera was professionally cleaned and serviced by Ron at Camera Care, Spokane, for this sale. Ron says, "D-600 has been gone through and tested. Professionally cleaned and checked. Scale of 1-10, I would rate it at an 8."
PM for more information.
"That's one thing i don't understand...if a camera is weather sealed, how would dust get inside the view finder?" All I can guess is internally. Repair ticket states, "had to disassemble in order to remove prism and clean internal debris." When looking through view finder, dust was visible but didn't appear in images...I'll be unloading D-600 soon and wanted it in tip top shape for buyer.
Hi Dennis, My D-600 has been taken to three separate camera stores for sensor cleaning over the years. There's a local camera repairman in Spokane who once worked for Nikon USA. The cost for basic cleaning runs $85.00... The D-600 also has an issue with dust getting on the inside of the view finder. This requires disassembly of the camera which doubles the price. I'd Google 'camera repair near me' to see if you have a more local option. Otherwise, contact Ron at cameracare.com, he's really good...
Great images... Where near Yakima does one find White Pelicans?
This is a crop of a handheld image shot at: ISO 100 600mm f/6.3 1/250 sec I'm about 220' feet away looking up to the top of the trees. It's taken a few trips out in the field, but the results are getting better with each and every outing. The second photo is the original image.
And here's a similar shot during the day. Was out shooting aircraft on final approach (GEG). For the fun of it, I shot this. Nikon D-600, Big Tammy, ISO 200 600mm f/8.0 1/200 sec
Thanks, I must confess, though, that shot was taken with my Nikon 18-35mm lens. Here's what I'm currently working through. I believe I need to play with the fine tune (+20 to -20) settings. The distortion is radiant heat, but it's hard to tell because the image is too soft...
I look forward to meeting some of the outdoor shooters from the Pacific Northwest. For now? I'm working out the auto focus bugs with my D-600 and the Tamron 150-600mm.
