Usually I'm photographing these beauties with a warm coat, boots and gloves. This year they have been visible in the spring. What a treat!

All summer these little guys have been very dull in their coloration. Fall is coming and their rich color is back.

I had a good photo session with this cooperative northern flicker. Normally I'll spot one and all I see is its white tail flying away. This one liked to pose.
