Thanks for your reply. It wasn't clear to me that in the intelligent Auto setting, continuous shooting is not available. When I changed the setting to creative auto the option for continuous shooting becomes available. Thanks again.

My first post, Hello everyone. I got a Canon T5 for Christmas and cannot find the continuous shoot icon that the user manual says should be there. I only have icons for timed continual shooting. Can anyone help?
