I have numerous photo editing software programs. Photoshop is the only one that has layers. Which software programs do you know of that have layers?

On1 Raw has layers.

Thank you all for your discussion. I learned a few things from it. The most important is that yes, I had turned off the Digital Zoom in the menu as everyone mentioned. What I didn't know (and maybe some others also) is that the default for Fn2 on this particular camera is the offending Digital Zoom and that it will override the menu setting. So, If it gets inadvertantly pushed (a likely event when trying to take a picture), you can end up with an unwanted result. I had mistakingly thought that changing the menu selection would disable the function completely. I have since changed the Fn2 button to a different function.

Thanks for the review. I don't understand how this could have happened since I already had made sure that the Digital Zoom function was off. I'll shoot some other pics to see if it still happens.

Not doing any online cropping or using digital zoom in-camera.

It would have been much more helpful to have stored the original files.

Are you capturing both file types at their full pixel resolution? Are you applying a lens profile that maybe 'flattens' the JPEG in a way that the canvas appears cropped? What conversion program did you use to convert the RAW to this JPEG? Do you have a cropping factor applied to the JPEG as that appears to be the more likely difference than a lens profile correction.

Many of these questions might be addressed in the EXIF in the stored file.

Thanks. I am rather new to posting. Here are the files again, although it appears that the raw files are not supported. I used ON1 Raw 2020, Luminar 3, and Fast Raw Viewer. No added cropping factor.

Based on my owning an Oly EM10 Mark II, it appears you have the camera set for digital zoom. Only the jpg applies the close-up; the raw is the original (optical) focal length. Your viewfinder, LCD and playback mode display the digital zoom view. See page 60 of your user manual for more information.

I doubt that is the problem since I specifically made sure it was off.

I have an Olympus OM-D E M1 MkII and shoot ORF and jpg files. I usually "develop" the ORF files using the Olympus Workspace program which should be available to download from the Olympus web site - getolympus.com. There should be no difference in the dimensions of the image in ORF or jpg unless you are cropping the images online. Look in you manual, which is also available online after you register you camera with its serial number. Also, please go through your menu and make sure you have not set something inadvertently. The Olympus menu systems can be a bit challenging but after playing with it for a week or so with the aid of the manual it should all fall into place. Good Luck

Thank you for your comment. I have owned the Olympus OM-D E-M1 MkII since it was first released, so I am familiar with the menu system. I'll recheck my settings but I am relatively sure that is not the problem.

I having been taking pictures with a new Olympus OMD-EM10-Mark III using an Olympus lens M40-150mm F4.0-5.6R. I have my setting to shoot JPG(LSF)+Raw. I noticed there was a great difference in the crop (probably not the right word) between the jpg and the raw file. Can anyone explain why the difference? The two photos are representative of all those I have taken.

This shot was taken at 128mm ISO 200 1/400 f/14 ev -0.30 Date and time stamp are exactly the same as is the file name.
