The var ious motions are all adjustable. Yes in cold weather I imagine they could get sticky but they are able to be adjusted. Beats handheld :)

D40 + last 3 lenses and bottom three items. See original listing it is current. Compatability question has mixed answer-will work with 550-dont know about 600. Nikon has a compatibility list somewhere on its website. might check there.
