I would suggest sticking with what have until you feel it is limiting you. When you know how you feel limited, it will give a direction you will want to go in for a new camera.
I am in a wheelchair and I would be lost without my monopod. It is almost always with me and, while it isn't a tripod it is close in it's benefits. A great piece of gear.
The difference between grey market and the good place price is usually not that special. I don't think it is worth taking a chance with grey market products.
If you go up the Oregon coast there are light houses, ocean views, coastal formations, fishing harbors and quaint towns and structures. Inland are the Cascade mountains and a thousand places to shoot including Crater Lake National Park. A visit to your local library will list more places to shoot than you could get to in a year.
