No, I didn't change a thing except that I bought & installed single pin "standard" feet for my units so as not to have to tape over the contacts. One of my ring units is missing one of the screws that hold it on the ring assembly. Thankfully I have several of them...

You might have fun playing around with the tilt--Say, by shooting small objects on a table top, and aligning the depth of field with your table top, as oppose to parallel with the "film" plane.

I saw a diagram that showed how to line up the three angles involved should meet for the best results. The angle of the object, the lens, and the sensor should all meet at a single point. I found focus stacking much easier, especially with such small subjects. I do want to experiment more with it some time.

I have the lens in several re-branded versions. Plus I have 4 of the ring/point lights. They are my "go-to" setup for any macro and I own 8 different true macro lenses from different makers in different focal lengths, some AF, others MF). Bear in mind that the flash may not fire when mounted on a Nikon DSLR unless the pins (other than the central one) are taped over. While it has the correct configuration for Nikon, they are TTL units & won't communicate with iTTL camera bodies. Send me a picture of the ring flash as they were made at one point by SunPak (which I prefer as they are more versatile) & later by Nissin...Here is an image of the macro lenses I own & use plus a link to the OP where the image was posted. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have on this lens...

Impressive set of macro lenses, Scott! Did you bend the bracket on the square side flash on your ring flash to angle in a little bit? Yours looks just like my Dine ring flash except for the angle of the square flash. And my screws have come loose on it more than once. ;-)

Can you focus to infinity with it on your PB-4? I have that bellows also, but the only lens that works with it all the way to infinity (if I remember correctly) is the 105 f/4 that came with it. Love the tilt/shift feature on that bellows.

No, can't focus to infinity with any of my lenses on my PB-4. I also have to use a PK-13 extension ring on the back of the bellows so my digital cameras will clear the frame of the bellows. It ends up being a high magnification set up, but it works very well for focus stacking. The rails are solid and move easily. I haven't used the swing feature very much, mainly just played around with it, I normally use it as a straight bellows for very small objects.

I own two of them just in case something would ever happen to one of them. They were made for dentists and I got one of mine from a retiring dentist. I have the ring flash also, still works perfectly even though it is 30 years old. I did a voltage test on my Dine ring flash and feel confident using it on any of my Nikons. It is one of my most used lenses and works great with my PK-13 extension rings and my PB-4 bellows. I always use it in manual mode and set the aperture on the lens.

Are using a PC ? Doesn't Lynda us a Mac?

Yes, I am on a PC. I don't know why the program would run differently on a PC versus a Mac.

I have only had PSE 14 for about a week now. I started watching Lynda.com videos for instruction and noticed that when she used the Quick Edit modes that the image shows the changes as she hovers the cursor over the 9 little change options. Mine does not, even when I use the slider. There is a small image in the bottom left hand corner and it shows the changes. I uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 14, did the same with Adobe Flash just in case, and it still isn't working. I seem to have plenty of computer power to do this, nothing is working overtime or even working hard on my computer. Is there a box I need to 'check' that I haven't found yet to turn on this feature? I have been searching for the answer with no luck so far.

Thank you all for the help! I found out that the old sticks were in slots 1 & 3 once I opened it up. I didn't want to take a chance on mixing slower sticks with the newer ones so I only installed the new 8 DDR3 sticks and removed the old ones. I didn't get a huge improvement but my computer seems to be running more smoothly with a slightly faster response time now. Now I need to learn how to use PSE 14. ;)

Makes no difference, just equal sizes must be paired as N4646W says. Also, memory speed is dictated by the slowest installed.

This help keeps getting me one step closer on knowing what to do. Thank you!

If the sticks are not the same speed, the slowest sticks will determine the overall speed if you use all four.

Most boards require matching sticks in set patterns. Slot 1&3, 2&4 or 1&2, 3&4. The speed will be on a sticker on the sticks. Check your manual to see the pairing for installation. Slot numbers are usually printed on the mother board, but often hard to see. If you don't have the manual, go to the site and download the PDF manual. Since memory is cheap, you may want to get two more matching stick and fill her up, but I have found that 16 gig on my system has only come close to maxing out the memory when using Piccure+. That is probably as I only have a 200mb page file set on the HD.

I will find out the speeds on my installed sticks once the new ones arrive and I open the computer. I do know that the factory installed sticks are in slots 1 & 2 currently. If the installed sticks are less than 1600MHz then I will leave them out and will place the new sticks in slot 1 & 2. Still trying to figure out where to place all 4 if the speed is the same. Thank you!

It depends on the speed of the RAM memory?

Memory clock speed on the new 8GB sticks is 1600MHz. I don't know what the clock speed is on the factory installed 4GB sticks is.
This is what I was told to order, arriving today:

My motherboard says that it can handle up to 32GB of RAM. Does that help? I wish I knew more about it to help with the answer. ;)

I am finally moving up to PSE 14, it is arriving today with two new 8GB DDR3 memory sticks. I have four slots in my motherboard (Acer Predator Desktop) and it came with two 4GB DDR3 memory sticks in slots 1 and 2 and the other two slots are currently empty. From reading about it I think that I need to move the two 4GB sticks to the third and fourth slot and install the two 8GB sticks in slots 1 and 2. Or am I better off with removing the 4GB sticks and just running the 8GB sticks in slot 1 and 2?
Thank you in advance!

I normally buy most of my equipment from B&H, Adorama and Cameta, but I bought PSE 14 from Amazon because it was cheaper with the Prime membership. I didn't save a lot of money, but every little bit helps in retirement.
