Hello, I'm new to the forum, but I guess that's obvious or I wouldn't be posting here. I've used simple point and shooters and phone cameras (now that they actually can take some decent photos) and recently picked up a Canon EOS Rebel XT DSLR. I've attended a National Geographic seminar about landscape photography and find myself looking at things differently now. I'm still at the stage of auto settings on the Canon and I am taking a basic online course about how to use the various features. I've been told I have a pretty good eye for photos. I don't know how true that is, but some folks like some of my photos. In the past I've enjoyed manipulating photos (colors, special effects) with my photo program and have made some ordinary things look pretty cool, like abstract art. Now I'm moving more into taking photos of nature that are interesting without altering them. I'm having fun with it and hope to become more proficient at using all the features on my camera and eventually move up to a newer camera. Doubt I'll be giving up my day job soon. Also hope to learn more about printing photos, color schemes, printing photos the size I want, etc.
