I would like to request your thoughts on the best settings for taking pictures of lightning. I will be out of the metro are this next week when the remnants of tropical storm Cristabol comes up the Mississippi river and would like to try and catch a shot or two.
My thought would be a wide open lens, very fast shutter speed and let the camera F stop.
I am using a Pentax K30 camera, if that is of any help.
Any and all input is very much welcomed and I thank you one and all.
Tim
Yes I did thank you. No luck. I have all my pictures go to an external hard drive.
When you sync pictures from an ipad to an Mac Pro laptop, where are the files stored? They full fills must be on the laptop because I can edit them, but looking everywhere I can not find them. I store all my pictures on an external drive and would like to do the same with these.
Any suggestions would be a great help and I thank you for them.

I really did it this time. Many times I thought I had lost my entire photo collection, for one reason or another. (I am not at all comfortable with 'THE CLOUD'.) I back up my files to another drive on a regular basis.
I have been running on a MAC Pro laptop for about 3 years now and keep up with latest system updates, currently running 10.14.4.
I HAD 1.9TB of photos on a 6TB external USB drive, with a 6TB B/U drive.
Last week I walked away one evening, came back a few minutes later to a BLANK drive. No worry, I had my b/u drive to goto. 2 days later, almost the same exact thing happen. Now I am dead in the water.
To make a long story short, I have changed all cables and power supplies. My son took the primary drive home and it came up and worked fine on DOS pc.
I have used that drive on my MAC for several years, but now it does not see it all of a sudden.
HELP..I am looking for any and all ideas that anyone may be able to think of..PLEASE.
I have over 30000 photos at stake here.
I thank you very much for your time and effort on my part.
Have a good day,

Here are just a few of some almost 400 shots I took at the air show this past past weekend. I know what some of the aircraft are but but not all. Please enjoy.

After many conversations with V.Bramption and doing a file by file search of my system hd, I found that LR had become corrupted. I had files all over the hd, so I took the plunge and deleted everything associated with LR, reloaded and started from scratch. So far I have had no problems after re-entering 10K files.
Thank you for everyones help and input.
have a good day,
Tim
I have currently 22 collections. Within that I have 3 collection sets and within 2 of them I have further collection sets.
I would not think I was anywhere near the limit of LR. I also shutdown and reboot every morning, just for information.
Thank you
Tim
Is their a limit to the number of collections that can be created within Lightroom? Specifically nested collections. I can not find anything on it in V. Bamptons manual.
I am working on a MACPro, ver 10.13.5, and the current version of LR CC.
I am at point were I can not add any more collections and I am far from finished organizing my files.
I thank you for any and all help provided.
Have a good day,

Did anyone notice the truck parked o the water in "The Top of the Rock" picture? Seems a funny place to park a truck, or is that a special hazard on the course?

I have been using the Canon Pro 9000 for years and love it. If the 1000 is anything like the 9000, then go for it.
Good luck on your search.
Tim
Thank you very much for the input given.

Is their anyway to recover the date shot on a picture after the fact when using Lightroom on an Apple MacPro system? I know there is 3rd party software available for use on a PC, but is their any known software for an Apple?
I thank you very much for any and all input.
Have a good day,
Tim
Change the name of the "untitled folder" to anything else and then LR will see it as a file on the Desktop.
