I have a soft spot for wolves; grew up in Ely, Minnesota. There's lots of them up there! I guess that's why I'm drawn to the mals. They're so regal, yet family oriented... Corwin had a presence about him that I've not seen in many dogs. He was clearly "boss" when it came to other animals (I was his boss), but he did it in such a gentle manner; very slow to anger, yet always in control. He was amazing! Whenever he perceived a threat, he would just stand in between me and whatever the threat was, didn't growl, didn't get agitated... just stood there. He died in 2002 and I still miss him.

Is that a malamute by your side? I've had 3 in my life and miss them all desperately. the first dies young from a grandmal seizure, 2 died in the winter of 2013; one of old age, the other of a twisted stomach. We moved to Alabama and I just know it's not a place for mals. I'm not sure I want any other breed. They're special to me.

Hi all,
I just found this forum and have not had much time to enjoy it yet, but plan to spend many hours learning from you all.
I was transplanted from Madison, WI to Selma, Alabama last year, when my husband got transferred.
I have a Canon 20D, which I love! My wide angle lens is in the shop.... hope they can repair it. Love taking bird pics off our back porch!
