Where's your sense of humor?

I guess that's the point. What you find funny others find irritating. It might be funny in another place. It just doesn't belong here in my opinion. You don't have to agree with me.

It's a future shot of Washington DC if our current administration continues on like it has.

LOL

It ruins a thread for me when people make gratuitous political or religious comments.

I don't know the name of the first bird. It was wading along the river bank.

This heron was behind some reeds. His chest feathers are green, I don't know if that's just a reflection from the water or he has an algae problem.

I would love to get photos like this! Saw some king fishers last time we were out on the water but they move so fast I never had a chance. Great job!

I like the egret the best. It has a few bright spots but I don't know how those can be avoided because the bird is so white. The tail feathers have beautiful detail. Great shot.

I would clone out the grass blade on the dragonfly but that is just my preference.

The third one is not my cup of tea.

I like #3. I think it will look great printed up. Only suggestion is to remove the vent with a crop.

The only way I've managed to snap a heron is when it is standing still. They are very good at that. Love the one in flight and snacking on a catfish.

The first one definitely had too much washed out sky in it. The crop makes it a better picture.
"then the man, wishing it was his.... ;0) " that's what I saw. Even though you can't see his face his posture conveys that thought.

The problem with osprey in their nests is that it will always be over your head unless you are lucky enough to have an observation platform. You will never get really close either. So once you've found your osprey, you need to find the best vantage point and have a good telephoto lens and a stable hand. Get the focus tack sharp and spot on composition and you're all done. Easy, right? :)

Does this convey the idea better?

This is what I was talking about... He still looks in awe of the car, but without the blurred part distracting from it. I also boosted the color just a little. Hard to do on a small image.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll go back to the drawing board and give it another shot.

Why not crop the blurred section in front of the car off completely. Make it about the car and the guy checking it out. The stuff in front of the car adds nothing to the shot. With your permission I can show you what I mean.

Mike

Please feel free to edit, I would appreciate your take on it.
What I liked about the first image I posted is that is reminds me of a man walking into a crowded room and spotting the girl of his dreams. Everything around him blurs and all he can see is her while the world goes on around him.
