I tend to agree with Gene regarding LR/PS CC BUT....whenever considering new software for your computer, you really need to check out the minimum specification hardware requirements for the software and make sure your current computer complies. For photo editing software such specs typically include CPU type/speed, minimum RAM size, graphics adapter types (possibly also with minimum RAM), and operating system. Just a for instance, if you try to load the latest version of Photoshop 2015 CC on a computer designed to run an earlier version of Windows XP, you will undoubtedly be doomed to dismal failure. But it won't be the fault of the software.

I wouldn't be so sure about the adobe subscription. I have a mid 2011 macbook pro with the I7 processor and the newest versions of the adobe programs lock my computer up as well. I have had good luck with Gimp which is free and the Nik collection. Hope this helps.

I'll give it a go, THANK YOU!

That's the one - but I would have signed up for the LR/PS CC Trial - then just pay the $10/mo - it's cheaper than anything out there that comes close to the value and functionality provided with both programs.

Hmmmm....I might do that and return (unopened) the other program.

THANK YOU!

After editing each picture, the program locks up and I have to close it. Sometimes I have to restart my computer. Worst of all, after editing it sometimes deletes the picture! It's not the size of the image, I've taken the sony doen to 12 megapixels. Anyone got a clue?

The T6i and T6s are 555g/1.22lb & 565g/1.24lb grams, the 70D is 755g/1.66. This is of course body only.
The 7D is 860g/1.89lb and 7DII is 910g/2.0lb.

The T6 bodies are also smaller in dimensions than the other three.

Another plus for the T6.

He asked about the 70D vs T6i so that is what I addressed.
If it was me I would go for the T6s over a T6i.
Actually if they come out with an upgrade of the 7DII with the 24mp sensor that would be even better.
As it is I am saving to get a 7DII to compliment my 6D. Who knows, by the time I save the money they may have a 6DII with a few more MP and an action type AF so I won't want/need a 7DII for birds and stuff.

Is the T6s the same weight as the T6i? The 7D is way too heavy for me as I have RA and my hands and wrists are a mess.

T6i and T6s have the latest generation 24MP sensor. 70D is now one generation older, and is 20MP. Actually your T2i is 18MP and essentially the same sensor was used in all the Canon APS-C crop cameras beginning with 7D/T2i, up through 60D/T5i. So your T2i is basically from the generation prior to 70D, though it's an early model from that generation.

The T6i and T6s use the latest generation Digic 6 image processor. The 70D uses previous generation Digic 5+ processor. Your T2i has a Digic 4 processor.

Wow! Your explanations and comparisons are quite helpful. I shoot my nieces volleyball matches and some track & field too, but not as much as stills. THANK YOU!

Not a lot of people have T6i or T6s in hand yet... it's just hit the store shelves in most markets. So you may have a hard time finding a lot of feedback about image quality, etc.

AF system is similar or same on all three: 19-point, active matrix, transmissive LCD focus screen. This is similar to, slightly simplified version of what was first used in the 7D. T6i and T6s have 13 Custom Functions, which is more than most Rebel series, but still fairly basic. 70D has 19 Custom Functions and many of the additional ones are related to various autofocus tweaks that can be used in a variety of situations. 70D also has Micro Focus Adjusment (one of the Custom Functions) that allows fine tuning the focus of up to 40 specific lenses with a specific camera. T6i/s don't have MFA.

70D has shutter speed up to 1/8000 and flash sync of 1/250. The two Rebel models have 1/4000 top speed and 1/200 sync.

70D has durability rating of 150,000 (stated in predicted number of shutter actuations or "clicks" ). I haven't seen a similar rating stated for either of the new Rebels, but other recent models in that series have been 100,000 clicks.

T6s has control layout more similar to 70D and other xxD models, while the T6i follows the more traditional Rebel series control layout and might feel more familiar to someone accustomed to T2i. T6s also has a top LCD display (similar to 70D and other xxD models). T6s also has AI Servo Focus available in Live View/Video, while T6i does not. There apparently are a couple other video-related tweaks in the T6s, but I'm not a video shooter so I'll leave it to someone else to elaborate. I guess Canon is "testing the waters" with T6s' design and features, to see if buyers find the slightly more upscale approach in a Rebel series worth the additional $100 or so.

70D can shoot up to 7 frames per second, while the T6i/s are able to do 5 fps. This difference is probably the key reason that the 70D is still recommended for sports/ action, over the T6i/s. But there really isn't a lot of difference. All three are pretty good for this type work, thanks to their 19-point AF systems (and 7D Mark II is a better sports/action camera than any of them, thanks both to an even higher frame rate and to higher performance AF system).
