Although most of my photography is with the fire department, I do enjoy shooting sports, ie baseball and football. Unfortunately, here in Peoria, we do not have any major football teams, BUT we do have semi-pro baseball, the Peoria Chiefs ( semi-pro team for the St. Louis Cardinals) which I receive Press passes for each season.
Here are a few images from the first game of the season.
I carry 2 - Z 9's, NIKON 300mm 2.8 and 70-200mm 2.8 S; I use auto-ISO, average 1/8000 sec @ 2.8

Realizing that there would be many photographs of the historic total eclipse, I wanted to photograph the people who were watching the eclipse. Here are some of my images from the event. I use two, NIKON Z9, with a 24-70 2.8 S and 70-200mm 2.8 S, ISO 100, various F stops.

No, the house to the left was sprayed and fortunately did not catch fire. Thank you for your comment.

No sooner than I finished editing my other fire photos when I received a call/alarm early this morning from the 911 Dispatch Center for a structure fire. These are some photos from this fire which occurred at 3:20 am last night.
Z9, 24-70mm 2.8 S, auto-ISO, average shooting speed 1/80 - 1/100sec @ 4.0-5.6, temp: 25 degrees. I might add, my camera had icicles around the lens and body but never had any problems with the camera functioning. If you notice in the 1st image, upon arrival I tried to frame the opening scene as a prelude to what I was about to photograph. On the far left you see a woman in a red jacket. On the far right, you see the firefighters on scene. The fire engine is angled towards the right. Hopefully drawing the viewers eye towards the action. All comments are welcome !!

Thank you.. I had #3 made into a metal 24 x 36 print which is going to hang in the Central Fire House.
