I went through the same nonsense this week with KEH. Got a quote of $1496 for a camera and a couple of lenses. so I sent them in. I just heard from them yesterday, 3/26, 16 days later, with a new quote of $1346 which got me so aggrevated that I called them. I told them that their offer of $1496 was fair and the the new $1346 quote was unacceptable because my equipment was pristine. I said If you can't do better, send it back at your expense. The agent said they would give it a second look and get back to me by end of day. The new quote is $1471, so I accepted. The firs go-round was a dance to see how cheap they could get my stuff for. It paid to complain to get them to come around and be fair about the transaction.

I just sold lenses, a teleconverter and an FTZ adapter to KEH. The initial quote was $2000. (an almost new 14-24 Z mount 2.8 lens). The final quote was 1666. I called and they reviewed the items and told me that two of my lenses had mold (one was a 24-200 Z mount, rarely used). I took the offer, but am reluctant to send any other lenses to them for a quote.

First I heard such a rumor. I'd sooner give up photography than have to twist my lenses the wrong way.

Someone is trying to rattle your chain. LOL.

A photography friend of mine made these for me since I'm not much with a computer except editing.

Which do you like?

I like the 4th one. Not limited to wildlife photography.

Doesn't matter if you shoot with a mirrorless or DSLR if you don't know the basics of photography. It still comes down to practice, patience, and a lot of luck to make the wall-hanger. I've got a couple of wall-hangers that I did with a point-and-shoot. The one thing for sure: death and taxes. And taxes goes away once you achieve the first one.

Taken August 29th, the 30th was overcast. A little foresight on my part. Taken in Tucson, AZ with a Nikon D500 w/500 mm PF lens, 1.4 TC tripod mounted and used the self-timer. f9 1/250s, ISO 250, 700mm on a cropped sensor body (1050mm equivalent). Slight edit in LR.

Thank you for explaining the etiquette! I apologized to the seller and will refrain from further comments here unless I am buying.

Just so you know, Nikon has it listed @ $299 new.

I want to apologize to the original poster. I misread the add from Nikon. It was for a DX z lens 24-50. I will refrain from commenting on others posts in the classified section unless I wish to buy the item.

Hello, I am sorry, I am going to have to pass on the offer. It is a wonderful deal. I have more cameras than brains and I too am 75. My wife reminds me that we are on a fixed income with no budget for more cameras. Good luck with your sale!

Magic words. Not only you but the majority here will NEVER be able to use all the technologies incorporated in the new cameras. I have old cameras and I have not been able to use all of the features the cameras are capable of. There is something else, at least in my case it is impossible to remember those features so, if the situation arise I have to go back to the instructions and start all over again.

So true. I was just telling my family last night at dinner, about the new Z8. I have the Z6, Zfc, and D500 and I find myself going back to the camera manuals to relearn some of the settings. I would spend all my time reading and re-reading the instruction manual on the Z8. I ask myself the age-old question, will a new camera make me a better photographer? The answer is probably not. I should spend the money on a trip somewhere or take classes.
